Year ago I worked with a team of people examining a future personal identity scheme. Instead of multiple cards, accounts and passwords each person would have a digital identity that would be used in all financial transactions. That’s where this is going.
Yes, I’ve heard similiar future of data solving societal problems TED-talk visionairies who gushed about need for universal digital identitiers.
