Magic mushrooms may soon be legal in Oregon

“Magic mushrooms” may soon become legal in Oregon, where even powerful politicians seem high — on the idea, according to a report.

The state’s attorney general green-lit language allowing the bill to hit the ballots in 2020, assuming advocates get enough signatures, according to Oregonlive.com

If it passes, the initiative would decriminalize hallucinogenic mushrooms and allow them to be manufactured with a license. Oregon would become the first US state to legalize the drug.

The bill will need 140,000 signatures in order to appear on the ballots in the 2020 general election, the paper reported.

Nationwide, possession of psychedelic mushrooms — and their active compound, psilocybin — is a felony. But advocates say the trippy treat can help boost spirituality, fight depression and even help terminally ill patients cope with death.

“The intent of the 2020 Psilocybin Service Initiative of Oregon is to advance a breakthrough therapeutic model currently being perfected in research settings at top universities around the world,” Tom and Sheri Eckert, who are leading the petition, wrote on the campaign’s website.

Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum declined to comment to the paper.

Increased drug use is always a sign of a society in decline. Next stop heroin.

Shrooms? They're legalizing shrooms in Oregon? Did they make Dave, Attorney General? Sister Mary Elephant, Director of Education?

I don’t remember anyone being supervised by professionals back in the 60s-70s. I do remember people going into psychotic episodes during that time and people not coming back.

Who’s going to supervise this new mushroom phenomenon?

"By holding fast to the idea that "reality" is what you want it to be and say it is, Liberals/postmodernists have to exist in a state of mind that feverishly denies the ever persistent voice of True Reality.

Denying True Reality requires a huge amount of self-medication."

__________

You are so far off on this subject, that it's easy to sum it up for you.

LSD/mushrooms/psilocybin DO NOT DENY REALITY. Quite the opposite. They expose reality over time.

******

For centuries mushrooms have played a central role in the evolution of human consciousness and, yes, in religion.

"Is the initiative in Oregon for the end purpose of medicinal mushrooms, or to allow for recreational use of the same?"

___________

I am not sure of their plans. I guess there is a lot of time to learn that.

I am completely aware of the effects of DMT.

My point is that Liberals do not seek the truth as it exists. They seek the truth as they want it to be. And they like to get high too.

I am also aware of the effects of DMT on religion going back to Babylonian times.

My point is that Oregon is a thoroughly blue state. Liberals don't realize all the power of DMT or where it might lead them.

As an aside, as you may know, some shamans believe DMT can be used to open a dimensional door (hence the religious aspects of it).

Marijuana is the gateway. This is what the people who pushed legalizing pot were really going for. Legalizing all dope.

“LSD is NOT for children!”

No, it's definitely not. Brain development continues into your 20s, and I wouldn't recommend using any mind-altering substances - particularly during this time. That includes cannabis.

"In my opinion, playing with brain chemistry is not something to venture in lightly. We only have one."

____________

Your feelings are understandable and basically true.

May I suggest that your resorting to the use of the word "playing" ..... is playing by you.

And secondly I started using LSD at times after graduating from college/Economics in '68, then coming back from my Army Security Agency work in the Army, and thirdly reading extensively from medical journals and other publications on the study and use of LSD.

I also studied the behavior of friends who were already using it.

Only after all of that did I decide to try it. It was very beautiful and tremendously meaningful.

Take this for what it's worth.

PS -- All my life of 72 years, I have loved to watch snow fall ..... meander down on a still, chilly night under a street light.

Luckily, the first time was a night like that. These very big beautiful snowflakes fell for hours through the street lights of Oakland, Pittsburgh, PA. The colors in those flakes were fabulous.

Those colors are always there. Some folks just never get to see them.

LOL ....... silly. That's nearly as foolish as saying that drinking coffee leads to cocaine use.

It’s also being used to treat severe PTSD. With great results. Helps people relive traumatic events objectively, without terror.

Truly remarkable stuff, for many people of high intellegence. That said, if you are the naturally fearful , weak-willed type (i.e., a believer in “demonic possesion” nonsense), you probably want to avoid the stuff. You will definitely have a bad trip. Self-fulfilling. It can be a mirror of your psychosis.

You don’t get high on coffee. It’s not a recreational mind-altering drug. If you think doing dope isn’t harmful, do you also think it should be marketed to kids? Because that’s the end result anyway. When you legalize drugs, it makes them more available to kids, who end up screwing up their whole lives.

______________

So ..... let me get this straight.

Are you saying that because liberals are control freaks (which is true), LSD should not be used (without punishment) by anyone (in Oregon)???
