Thank you for trying but I truly do not need to be lectured about the Bushes.....Taken in context of this event....It is a memorial service for the nation rightly done for a once sitting President of our country......I will mourn with those who mourn, just as it is written, and recognize the spirit in which it was conducted..... and leave politics to the side for the time being.

He set a great example of being a good military man, husband, father and grand. History will judge him more than we can now.
Great service. Respectful. spotted with music, humor, memories. A state funeral to honor the passing of a very small fraternity of members. The five living members took pause I am sure, knowing their day will come

One can disagree with someone without being hateful toward them. He was NOT the worse president by a long shot. Two pew warmers in front are vying for that honor. Was he one of the worst? doubtful. One of the best? not sure. He did many things I did not agree with. His contempt for 45 paramount. But as 45 seems to have overcome this, why can’t we?
The black shuttle busses carried the Bush family. Big family.
I turned it on in time to catch the 21 gun artillery salute, that’s always impressive. Watched casually in and out. State funerals are impressive and I know that I won’t be watching the next few that come up (Carter,Clinton, Obummer)

Thanks for your compassionate and courteous comments on this thread. They are appreciated. George H.W. Bush was far from my favorite President, but he had many good qualities. The needless rancorous comments on this thread do not compliment those who make them. Too many among us seem to be becoming more like the Democrats in character each day. The founders were egoists - they were a product of the enlightenment, which embraced (rational) man and rejected stable traditions dating back thousands of years. Rather than institute a domestic form of aristocracy, they went full retard by implementing a republican democracy. Oh sure, they felt they were clever enough to build in safeguards, checks and balances into the constitution, but it proved easily corrupted by adopting full franchise.
What should have happened was Washington should have ascended to Augustus, naming Adams as Caesar. The first 10 or so presidents would have followed pretty much the same line, but the empire would have remained stable while the republic began to diverge. The horrible three amendments passed during the progressive era would have never been discussed, much less incorporated. And let's not discuss the current open borders policy and wholesale voter fraud.
But here's the thing - history isn't static. People don't just take their sh!t sandwich and eat it without complaint. The system of US governance will correct at some point, and the form it takes will most likely mirror what should have been instituted 250 years ago. On a long time frame, consider how that short period would just be a minor blip in the 2k year period of the Roman empire (counting the east as a continuation).
Europe is on the move, and great things are apace on other fronts as equilibrium seeks to find balance. The panel of deep state traitors at the memorial may well be one for the archives after the reset is completed.

President Trump has been wonderful throughout this time. He gave the Bushes lots of room to conduct this service and the focus on their father and the family. He will never be given credit for what he contributed to this event.....yet sufficient that those with eyes and ears can see and know.

Never thought of life spans, but you are correct the founders could never have known how long people would live at that time!!!!
Your welcome......it was a service we as a nation honoring a former sitting President can be proud of....as well as our President Trump for reaching out with the Bushes. I think Bush Sr. intended just that.
