They want to ban private gun sales for one reason - it makes their lists incomplete.

Maybe by guess & by golly, since FOPA ‘86 makes it illegal to do so. There are articles by frustrated gungrabbers lamenting the obsolete paper based records at BATF; they’re fun reading.
