I made ketchup several years ago. If I recall, the recipe was either from my Fannie Farmer cookbook, or my Pepperidge Farm Cookbook. Allspice was the ingredient that made all the difference. Until I added that, it just didn’t taste like ketchup. Can’t remember if it was part of the recipe, or if I just decided to add it on my own.

When I first moved to Oklahoma, if I ordered a burger from a mom and pop restaurant, they would apply mustard with a trowel. I soon learned to order them without it.

I worked at a coffee shop across the street from a popular steakhouse. The chef would come in now and then. He said it infuriated him if anyone put anything on the steaks he cooked, that it was an insult, and ruined the flavor of his carefully aged steaks.

Bologna doesn’t taste as good now as it used to.

Oscar Meyer ruined the taste of Bologna and hot dogs with their all meat cr@p.

malt vinegar on french fries

It's good on the fish, too.

Malt Vinegar is great on fried chicken too, seriously.

As is lemon juice.

I'm hungry.

Idiot media. The reason it was “classified” as a vegetable (it is mostly water and tomato) was that the idiot libs passed crap that forced the federal government to actually classify all food into categories.

Libs...promote stupid sh^*() and then whine about the stupid sh*)*). Like plastic bags. For years and years it was “switch to plastic to save the trees” (libs don’t understand trees are crops that just grow slower than others). So everyone switched and they now get upset over plastic.

Liberals - that 5 year old brat that demanded the world at Christmas and then wanted to play with what everyone else got or else they’d whine and make a scene until enabling mommy told you to share with the POS bully that needed an ass whooping!!

Merry Christmas! lol

Goodness! Merry Christmas! All I want for Christmas is destruction of the deep state, and world peace. And if I can’t have that, I’d like a new blender and a box of chocolates (sugar free).

“Maybe it’s the quality of meat I tend to buy but I prefer my burgers with virtually no condiments at all. In the summer, I make 1/2 pound patties out of grass fed beef and cook them medium rare before putting them on a slightly buttered and toasted brioche bun. Other than maybe a thick slab of swiss and/or bacon, I eat them just that way. So good.”

I’m with you there, Pard.

We grind our own meat and bake our buns.

Using a FoodSaver we do #5 batches and freeze the ground meat (also grind pork) in 4oz, #1/3 and 8 oz. packages. Lasts a long time and we KNOW it’s high quality.

Yeah. Not a ketchup fan. Too sweet. I don’t particularly care for bbq sauce either.
