The annual race started and ended at the George Rogers Clark bridge in Louisville. They raced upstream to 6 Mile Island, turned around, and then back to the bridge. About 14 miles total.

We all looked forward to the Queen’s return to Cincinnati every year. Can’t wait to see her again!

We can see working boats any time of day pushing barges up and down the river, mostly coal barges (since Trump won the coal war). We had a wonderful River Museum and it burned last July. Doing my part to help clean up the damage to artifacts, by prying apart hundreds of photographs of river boats, old and new. It tedious trying to save enough of the image of the boats to use photo shop to reproduce them. They were drenched with water and the larger part of them are a total loss. I have to count those for the insurance co.

Back in the late '70s, Delta Queen raced Natchez from New Orleans to Baton Rouge. Several times, IIRC. Very cool tradition.
