You need a Trump loyalist, not a Bush retread. I’m hearing in the media that he’s the pick!

Actually I think the idea that someone Poppy nominated for such a sensitive position should be ruled out is a good place to start.

Let me guess, Jared & Ivanka are on board with this pick, too.

I heard “Barr” on the radio and hoped it was Bob, but it’s not.

Most likely. Why you reach back almost 30 years to get a Bush-family guy boggles the mind.

I hope I’m wrong and this guy turns out ok, or it could be big trouble.

While it’s truly an incredible feat that we elected a non-politician as President. Daily we see one vital pitfall. He has no loyalists to fill posts. Instead we are left with incompetents and retreads. Everyone in DC is owned by someone. Sadly we once again reminded Trump owns little.

Could we have some fact based references for objections?

No idol speculation or conspiracy theories!

Barr is a Kirkland & Ellis guy, like Brett Kavanaugh and a whole bunch of Trump appointees. The law firm supports Democrats overwhelmingly.

Check out

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirkland_%26_Ellis

and look under “Notable attorneys and alumni”.

However able these guys are, they are not going to drain The Swamp.

Good point. Trump came in with no experience in the swamp. I would have expected someone like Christie. At least Trump is a personal friend of 20 years with him.

Maybe this guy will work out. I admit I know nothing about him except the Bush connection.

Thanks for posting this “old news” info. Unfortunately, there are very few of us old-timer Freepers left who remember all these Clinton-Bush drug running connections. I still have my autographed hard-cover copy of Terry Reed’s book - thankfully there’s an affordable Kindle version now available:

Compromised: Clinton, Bush and the CIA Kindle Edition
by Terry Reed (Author), John Cummings (Author) - https://www.amazon.com/Compromised-Clinton-Bush-Terry-Reed-ebook/dp/B075JP2BR5/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1544129764&sr=1-1&keywords=compromised+clinton%2C+bush+and+the+cia

I highly recommend it for any folks who want to see just how the deep state corruption we’re seeing now is nothing new - it goes back a long ways.

Years ago, I was on the phone a few times with Mr. Barr when he was general counsel for a big company where I worked. He is a very, very smart fellow. And he didn’t talk down to engineers but treated us respectfully while quickly grasping technical information.

Makes you wonder how much DJT wanted to drain the swamp or he sees now, it will never be drained and gave up to some degree?????

I don’t know, just throwing that out there.

Well, then, he's obviously qualified to drain the swamp.

My number one complaint is the hiring decisions, and now I’m seeing other people do the same. Doesn’t Trump know what his base is saying? People were excited that we would get a new AG. They wanted a guy who would really drain the swamp. Or a lady.

It’s obvious what Trump wants - he wants Hillary held to the same standard he was & wants to drain the Obama holdovers/swamp. Why is he hiring the swamp? This happened with Chris Wray, and surprise surprise, Chris Wray maintained the status quo & won’t even turn over documents.
