U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz with three other senators introduced a bill Wednesday that is aimed at fully funding a wall along the US-Mexico border... The WALL Act would fully fund the border wall by closing existing loopholes that provide illegal immigrants with federal benefits and tax credits, without affecting the benefits and tax credits used by Americans.

"I don’t understand the rationale for doing this now......"

You can't change yesterday .... coulda, woulda, shoulda...but they can make a difference today to get something done before the House becomes a sea of DemonRat haters.

Get creative and attach it to the latest appropriations bill originating in the House as an amendment and blast it through in reconciliation.

Re-appropriating Teddy bears from Ted is a joke.

However, allocating moneys seized from Mexican drug lords is a perfectly just way to fund the border wall.

Actually, $25 billion is much closer to what is required to secure that border, $5 billion merely results in the invaders redirecting their criminal efforts.

Since Congress was once able to allocate over $25 billion for the most expensive highway project in US history (The Big Dig-Boston), certainly this construction project merits the same expenditure.

But, easing Boston’s traffic flow was a much higher priority then, than securing our border and protecting our national sovereignty today- shamefully.

The tax-dollar money IS there to be used for the benefit of ALL Americans.

They can originate in the senate. The house would then have to pass a bill, and the two would have to be reconciled.

This is classic Ted Cruz — make a flashy public display of your conservative credentials that has a zero chance of going anywhere.

RE: Re-appropriating Teddy bears from Ted is a joke.

Errr.... you would rather talk about teddy bears ( which has NOTHING TO DO with making the kids legal ) rather than supporting a current bill which actually FUNDS THE WALL?

Talk about getting priorities right...

RE: Since Congress was once able to allocate over $25 billion for the most expensive highway project in US history (The Big Dig-Boston), certainly this construction project merits the same expenditure

Well there you go, if it merits the expenditure, why not support THIS BILL regardless of who sponsors it ( eve if you hate the sponsor’s guts )?

RE: Although just the Cruz name was in the title, four Senators are proposing this bill.

Why should we care whose name is on it?

Heck I’ll support the bill even if Chuck Schumer sponsors it. All I want is for the money to be allocated for the wall.

I guess you missed the part where Ted Cruz was fighting for us when Donald Trump was inviting Bill and Hillary to his wedding and endorsing democrats right and left. Even Donald Trump is praising Ted Cruz and enthusiastically endorsing him. You need to get out of the past. I Love President Trump but he came to the conservative cause late....he really did not truly see the light until after his nomination and they turned on him with a vengeance. He has praised Hillary Clinton in the past. Ted Cruz beat one of the most powerful politicians in Texas to win his Senate seat and is beholding to no one!!!

What we are saying is that his proposal is for show only, not intended to actually be passed.

This is nothing but your opinion. Worthless dribble that could be said about any politician. The fact is it is a very good idea and if Donald Trump had said he wanted such a bill you would be praising it!!!

Cruz lied to win his first election and Trump dragged his sorry a55 over the finish line to win his second. Should nominate him to some out of way job and let Abbott name a replacement that can actually accomplish something and support Trump.

And you think you do. I don’t want to argue Cruz with every idiot that pimps him and kisses his boots, but over-the-top supporters do seem determined to ignore history, think he is some savior. He is a Canadian-Cuban, a unrepentant liar who postures occasionally but has accomplished nothing. His virtual signaling is all talk and no action, just like the rest of his colleagues on the hill. Sad some people actually buy it.

No, sorry, not from California though I was stationed there in the Navy back when it was a great American state. Today, I can see it from my living room window, about five miles away. Now, does being from California or not affect how I accept or reject Cruz’s lies, virtual signaling, and ineffectiveness? I can claim being a former neighbor of Palin, but for the life of me I don’t think I could see Russia from my window then. I lived in Texas but it was pathetically flat in Dallas, El Paso was occupied by Mexicans when I lived there. Shall I continue? I don’t think any matters in viewing Cruz, he is still Cruz.
