How about a plain exterior for the package you set out, but inside the first layer it’s addressed to “Dr ____ ____, Ebola Research Group, Your Town, USA” and inside that is an old poorly sealed jar of slightly off mayonnaise.

That might be fun. I suppose these porch pirates follow delivery trucks around so they can beat their rivals to the porches. Sad to think anyone would be that cynical, but hey, some friends of mine were on a photography shoot in a foreign land, they went around a corner to get a better view, and all their cameras were gone from the picnic table thirty seconds later.

I made an Amazon purchase last Christmas to be delivered to a drop box at a Circle K. I used an envelope with the emailed unlock code as a white elephant gift at a party. The winner had to go pick it up.

Our Trash folks delivered new Blue Cans for recycling.
That’s great, but I never ordered it and get to pay a monthly fee to have it on my property!

Thieves abound!

we have homemade boxes for ups/fedex deliveries up here in rural northern idaho because of weather/road conditions. Nobody grabs stuff from them because they would likely get a ass full of lead pellets, if they were caught in action.

I’m guessing that Clock Boy doesn’t lose too many of his deliveries, it’s the ticking ...

Here in the safely RED inland Northwest, we’re having a rash of crimes like this. Someone stole the key to the apartment complex mailroom and can grab anything from mailboxes in the middle of the night.

And yesterday, a pickpocket stole my Galaxy5 phone right in front of the door of local supermarket in broad daylight. Happened to another woman on my block too. I went down to police HQ to report the crime, offer to meet w with sketch artist because I know exactly what this guy looks like.. He’s a career criminal. Surveillance cameras showing g him robbing nearBank of America have been all over tv. I have no clue why they cannot catch him; I have the feeling they really don’t even try.

Meanwhile, I had to buy an expensive new phone. GRRRRR

Saw that.

That new Mayor, along with the one in Minneapolis are going to be legendary in respect to outrageous tax hikes.

Along with the new Governor.

I want to set a package of dog poop at the mailbox out at the road but am afraid one of my neighbors being kind would return it to me.

Find someone in your neighborhood who is retired and ask them if you can have packages delivered to their house. Offer to pay them (some will be happy for the additional funds) get a bunch of neighbors together and have their packages delivered. The person can text you when packages are received and you can swing by on the way home to pick up.

If you leave a box of garbage out - leave it on your liberal neighbors porch.
The thieves will be pissed at them.

There are deck boxes you can buy. Screw them down to the porch.

Great idea. Like an oversized mailbox slot. However, we often mail-order large items. Just a few days ago, my wife ordered two carpets, one is a 7-foot roll. Can't build a deck box large enough!

Anyway, she was waiting for the delivery at home when she got a confirmation text that it was delivered at 6pm. WTF, it was only 5pm. She worried that it was stolen by porch pirates. A scan of our security cameras showed no delivery all day. Around 11:30pm we hear a noise on the porch, and there are the two rugs. Looking at the security camera showed a scruffy guy with a hoody dropping off the rug rolls, saw no vehicle. We figured that FedEx outsourced it to a 3rd-party for delivery. Either that, or a thief decided he didn't want our carpets and brought them back. Must be the former, as a thief would not come back.

I personally know friends who sell on Ebay. As long as the package ARRIVES there, the sellers dont care and they did their job.

Even if a negative feedback is given, it’s removed because the objective is to get the package to the customer. That’s it. Oh someone swiped it? Tough.
