Mylon concerts were far and away the best concerts I've ever been to, including before I became a Christian as a teenager.

I'd do just about anything if he and his pals would do another one even though I know he's in his 80's.

Here's another one. Name-dropping time: The songwriter Gus Edwards was the great-uncle of one of my best friends, Evan Edwards. He also wrote "In My Merry Oldsmobile" and the beautiful "School Days." Evan was a great conservative Republican New Yorker who went by the name NYC GOP Man on FR.

By the Light of the Silvery Moon.

Here's a clip from the movie about Gus Edwards. Bing Crosby singing "School Days."

This rather unusual version of a famous show tune is my favorite.

Night and Day--Paul Whiteman's Concert Orchestra (1933)

Blues in the Dark, an old Count Basie tune, redone in the spirit of the days of its early '30s origins.

That's an excellent performance.

I'm not sure Gus C. Edwards is the same Gus Edwards, but this tune is among my top 100 favorites, and it's thrilling to think that it may have an FR connection.

Alabama Stomp--Gus C. Edwards & His Orchestra (1926)

It ain't Memphis Minnie beltin' out When the Levee Breaks, but on a chilly December evening, it'll do, it'll do.

The timing is right, but looking him up on Google, I don’t think he’s the same guy, although he could be. Gus Edwards had a brother named Leo, whose children were Jack, also a songwriter but not as great as his uncle Gus, and Joan. Jack was Evan’s father.

The Alabama Stomp is great. Thanks for posting it.
