This is the introduction to the Electromagnetic Task Force Report that has been recently released to the public. It was produced at the United States Air Force University and the Curtis E. LeMay Center for Doctrine Development and Education. The entire report is available at the link.

I found the report to be informative. We are more vulnerable than I thought, and we may be becoming more vulnerable as we convert, more and more, to a digital society.

The report covers much more than merely Electromagnetic Pulse EMP, but also the potential of a Chinese controlled 5G environment, which has the potential for control of nearly all information flow in the near future.

The section on the vulnerablity of U.S. nuclear power plants was particularly chilling. I would like subject matter experts on Freerepublic to look at it and critique it to determine if it is credible. The nuclear power section is the first part of the report. It is only 14 pages long.

The entire report is well worth reading as a base document instead of reports about it. It is only 39 pages long, with numerous figures and images.

Hey, I got a crazy idea. How about someone harden our electirical grid? Too crazy? I remember reading someplace that some replacement parts are available from our pals in China but the lead time is ouy there to get them made/shipped. Since the power will be out I suppose we could send them a note via carrier pigeon? Are we idiots? Why yes, yes we are. Grrrrrr. ;-)

This is an important, timely topic much maligned.

There is NO WAY that in a conflight scenario that China, Russia, or NK would not try to efficiencly claw “our eyes” out by turning out the lights.

An ounce of prevention is worth a ton of cure.
