Republican Lawmakers Are Not Happy With How Their Comey Meeting Is Going

Former FBI Director James Comey is sitting with the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees behind closed doors on Friday to answer (or not answer) their questions. Congress is investigating how FBI and DOJ handled the Hillary Clinton and Russia probes and, as you can imagine, Comey was one of the top witnesses on their list.

It doesn't seem to be going as planned. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) appeared to be most frustrated, explaining to the press that Comey came with two attorneys, one of whom has instructed his client to answer very few questions.

Thanks for posting that. I suffered through the first 30 pages or so. It is what I thought it would be: a bunch of smarmy low-life lawyers trying to one-up each other.

In other words worthless. BRING ON THE INDICTMENTS!

Republicans never fail to disappoint. Whether it’s election fraud, passing bills or investigating democrats criminal behaviour, they always act helpless. Even when they’re in power.

Innocent men...and women...seldom,if ever, take the 5th.But those who've heard Joe DiGenova state, more than once, that Mueller's BFF will soon need a highly skilled criminal defense lawyer won't be surprised by this story.

Lois Lerner did the same thing, after declaring she did nothing wrong, and the castrated Republicans did nothing.

It is not the Republican's charge to do anything other than to point out wrongdoing. The Attorney General is the dude who can bring charges against this a..hole and all of the others who have been skating the law. But that won't happen. Those folks answer to the other set of laws, not the laws that we common folk have to answer to. Sad, but true....

Comey is scum and I certainly don’t think that he is innocent.

Nope. It’s better not to talk when you’re the target. Look at the perjury traps that Mueller pulled.

Yep. Had that FISA been released, this might be a different game. Pitiful the poor choices the GOP continually makes.

When you're innocent you don't fear any interrogation..regardless of how ruthless the interrogator might be.OTOH when you're guilty you know you have to lie and evade and even the most skilled liar can't remember all the lies.

Yes,I know that defense lawyers say "*never* talk to the police" but when you take the 5th that suggests that you have something to hide.

There are so many laws and rules that if investigators and prosecutors look long and hard enough, they can always find a violation or crime.

Show me the man, I’ll find you the crime.

The FBI needs to be disbanded. State police forces can share information via phone, internet, and radio. Multijurisdictional criminals can be pursued without the Federal government, and the current bureau is nothing more than a political hit job agency.
