Rand Paul throws back at Todd that John Edwards was fined for improper campaign donations regarding his paramour.
IMHO, these are unproven accusations. We, in fact, don't know of any affairs but only of attempts to keep bad publicity out of the campaign. If proven, they're punishable with fines. Small potatoes.
These trivialities are about to be overshadowed with Clinton Foundation investigations which are treasonous and the FBI's corruption.
My understanding is that such payments were SOP for Trump well before he ran for office. So showing that it was a political rather than personal family-preservation move would be very difficult—and take him out of any legal jeopardy.
Of course, this is all political now, and the worry is whether if a Pelosi House advances impeachment to the Senate enough Never Trumper GOP Senators would cross over to do him in.
Illegal payoffs directed by Trump to affect an election (as if John Edwards were not)
emoluments (referring I suppose to his Russian hotel that was never built, or perhaps his DC renovated hotel at which foreign visitors choose to stay.
Thinnest of gruel, but please proceed with impeachment.
