This won’t hurt their economy, because France is mostly a “broken window fallacy” based economy. Their whole auto industry is just replacing the previously burned last year’s model of cars..

“pilgrims from all parts of the globe are already trying how to figure out how to fly in to some place other than Orly or De Gaulle to start their pilgrimages.”

And you blame the protesting French middle class rather than the globalists and the internationalist Left-wing anarchists for the current state of France? Telling.

You do realize both the globalists and the international Left despise religion and particularly Christianity don’t you? But it’s French middle class nationalists who are to at fault?

Tourists don't care if it's the Martians. They just want to be safe. If you think politics is involved in their decisions you're delusional.

“Tourists don’t care if it’s the Martians. They just want to be safe. If you think politics is involved in their decisions you’re delusional.”

Cite one example of a tourist being harmed by the French protests?

None. So their alleged fear is irrational. Yet you call me delusional.

But of course what do you care about the welfare of the French people? It’s all about making a buck off tourism apparently. To hell with the welfare of the people if it interferes with profits. Crush them! Petty and small-minded grub-think. All for what? A selfish and meaningless existence? Raison d’etre : FAIL.

Why not grow a pair and counter the protesters about how they are affecting your profit and comfort? Oh, but then you’re pitted against pensioners who can’t afford to heat their homes because of energy taxes. And you’re worried about tourism optics?

You’ll get over it. Learn to recoup and profit from other venues.

I certainly do. The finance minister called it a catastrophe because he knows it can be delusional, irrational, nonsensical. If they don't want to show up the reason doesn't matter. Tourists in Florida had a much better chance of being killed in an accident driving to the beaches and the theme parks than they did from being crime victims but when the Europeans got the idea in their heads that they were sitting ducks the politicians declared an emergency and took measures to try and get them back.

If you don't think the lost money from tourism isn't going to interfere with the welfare of the people you're out of your mind. If you can't afford to heat your home because of energy taxes you can afford it even less when you don't have a job.

Well then, maybe you just need to get in on the Révolution Française - Deux tourism packages. You could be first.

I have a teen-aged niece who is on a school trip to Paris.
They were supposed to be seeing the sights and
experiencing the culture.
Instead they are confined to the school housing
and not allowed to go out.
These riots will hurt France’s future tourist and travel.

I wouldn't go near that place on a bet. We're off to Seville tomorrow to visit the cathedral, the Christmas markets and to buy some convent sweets. Let them clean up their act and their streets first then maybe I'll catch one of the deals they offer to get people to come back. In the meantime there will be plenty of open rooms for you.

So you have a teen-aged niece who happens to be in Paris at this time and the school has decided keep them in lock down? I would be OUTRAGED and phoning the school. This IS French culture -living, in the present! This is the most significant French populist event in at least two generations and the students are confined to their hotel? Outrageous! Absolutely outrageous. They will never forgive the school and chaperones.

My daughter is ten. I am seriously considering taking her to Paris this March to learn and see this populist revolution first hand. By then there should be organized leadership, many speakers and well-developed political dialogue among Parisians. Freedom is best appreciated when openly expressed in defiance of tyranny. She will learn what it means to be free and why it is important.

Before anyone comments about foolish disregard I did four years in Iraq, 3 of them driving all over the country in an un-armored Mitsubishi B200 pickup. Situational awareness is the first 95% of any bad event. Daughter and I are not globalist elite .5 %-ers insisting on suppression and enslavement of the middle class to protect our gig. And the police typically do not harm tourists. So that should cover it.

You are not a sane person
if you would take your 10 year old daughter
to Paris at this time.

Have a great trip! Lots of presents for the family. I always tell my children “you can’t get this in Wal-Mart or online. And “none of the other kids can get this so don’t trade it cheap.

Yes, great rates soon on Paris vacation packages. Looking forward to it. And shopping/bartering rates should be great. But culture, that’s the draw for me. The French will be in their element.

And you’re a fool who watches life pass you by never caring to know what it means to be free.

I am not a fool.
I simply choose not to put myself
(or my 10 year old daughter, if I had one)
in danger unnecessarily.

If I wanted to see a riot I could go to Portland.

You see Leftist riots. I see a nationalist political movement disrupted by Leftist agitators attacking French national symbols to defame a populist movement.

Check your sources.

Protesting against exorbitant taxation, mass-immigration and punitive energy policies is middle-class conservative. They Left supports these. Why would protest? They’re not. The French middle class is protesting.

Well, you go on ahead, then.
Take yourself and your young daughter on over there and then report back.

Be safe,
Stay away from large crowds.
Pretty much as i do in any large city.
Always look for the emergency exit.

We live in Spain. Seville is about a 3.5 hour drive. In January we fly to Santiago de Compestela to stay in the oldest hotel in the world, right next to the Cathedral that people regularly walk 800 kilometers to get to. In March we will celebrate my wife’s birthday by spending 8 days at an all inclusive resort in the Canary Islands. We’re not averse to traveling to Paris on a whim if a good deal comes up. We have the 3rd busiest airport in Spain an hour away with plenty of discount airlines to tempt us. But Paris has a lot of competition and right now it’s not worth the aggravation.
