I was reared just North of there in Burk and went through tech school there in 1974. I spent a short tour there TDY in 1981. The base is a tenth of what it was back in the 60’s and 70’s. I remember the SAC B-52’s on the North end of the runway, armed and ready to strike the USSR if we were attacked.
