Huber won’t testify before House panel on Clinton probe
Salt Lake Tribune ^ | 12/12/2018 | Thomas Burr

U.S. Attorney for Utah John Huber won't testify Thursday before the House Oversight subcommittee as its chairman had announced previously.

Huber had been assigned by then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions to investigate several controversies Republicans have raised about Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation, many of them stoked by right-wing activists who believe she should be prosecuted.

Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., chairman of the Oversight’s subcommittee on government operations, had hoped Huber would provide an update on his probe.

“Mr. Huber with the Department of Justice and FBI has been having an investigation — at least part of his task was to look at the Clinton Foundation and what may or may not have happened as it relates to improper activity with that charitable foundation, so we’ve set a hearing date for December the 5th,” he told Hill.TV previously.

That hearing was postponed until Thursday because of President George H.W. Bush's funeral service.

Meadows had wanted to quiz Huber on whether any of the Clinton Foundation’s tax-exempt money was used for personal gain as well as a litany of other conservative allegations against Clinton such as her State Department’s approval of a uranium deal with Russia.

The Oversight Committee, as all other House panels, transfers to Democratic control next month because of the results of the midterm elections.

Huber's spokeswoman, Melodie Rydalch, confirmed that Huber wouldn't testify.

“Consistent with conversations between the department and the committee, Mr. Huber will not appear at the hearing,” she said.

The hearing will instead feature Tom Fitton, the head of the right-leaning Judicial Watch, a law professor and two tax professionals.

Sounds like he’s not been doing anything.

Well, there is always that possibility.

For the moment, I like to think Huber is not interested in handing off the results of a professional investigation to the Rat House. Much like a tactical withdrawal, that he and the current House Panel leadership have decided to place it with the Senate subcommittee chair in order to work on some loose ends.

“sessiosn was such a POS, he is part of the coverup and the ongoing deep state attack on Trump”

It’s absolutely staggering how corrupt ‘our’ fed govt truly is...I knew the Republican party was corrupt and compromised during the O’muslim usurpation but I didn’t know it was this bad. That they would coordinate, infiltrate and undermine a real President of the United States that’s a member of their ‘own’ party.

I’ve signed-up to make an ongoing donation to Judicial Watch of $50 a month. Seems they are the only ones doing anything to uncover what this corrupt government is doing. I encourage others to do the same.

The reality is he was a show horse who did absolutely nothing relative to the investigation of either the Clinton foundation or her e mails. Just a way for Sessions to get the matter off his desk. Never called a witness or looked at a piece of paper

15 Mar 2017: Huber to stay as Utah’s U.S. attorney during transition period
Hatch advised Sessions to keep Huber on interim basis.
By Pamela Manson The Salt Lake Tribune; Associated Press contributed to this article.
Utah’s U.S. Attorney John Huber, along with almost four dozen of his counterparts around the nation, offered his resignation last week as part of President Donald Trump’s administrative transition.
On Wednesday, Huber learned he will continue as top federal prosecutor in the state for a while more — Attorney General Jeff Sessions has decided to appoint him as interim U.S. attorney during the transitional period, according to Melodie Rydalch, spokeswoman for the Utah office...

Sessions had sought the resignation of 46 United States attorneys who were nominated by former President Barack Obama and had stayed on in the first weeks of the Trump administration. After getting the request to resign on Friday, Huber complied immediately, according to Rydalch...
Utah’s Sen. Orrin Hatch played a role in extending Huber’s time as U.S. attorney...

Last May, Huber was appointed to a national crime-fighting committee by then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch...

Wouldnt it be great to see the headline “Russian collusion conspiracy by left wing kooks who haven’t gotten over the fact that they lost an election” nah I didnt think so..when it comes to the Clintons its always a “Right wing conspiracy” but when it comes to the 2016 election, yeah Russia spending 4100 bucks on ads that no one gave a rats ass about, yeah that made a HUGE difference LOL

I am just about to the point of just reading the Bible and praying that He not leave me and mine behind when He comes.

Trump's greatest gift to America is that he has yanked back the curtain and shown us just what our government really is. The rest is up to us. If we deserve better, we will demand it.

The moment I read “stoked by right-wing activists” I stopped reading.

Does the EOTP (Enemy Of The People) ever mention "left-wing activists"? I can't remember any.

House Investigations will shift to the Senate.

Senate GOP is criminally referring Trump supporters and openly colluding with the Mueller Coup. Good luck with their “investigations” of Democrats.
