Actor Gary Sinise gave an amazing gift to Gold Star families for Christmas — a trip to Disney World for almost 1,700 family members of fallen soldiers.
“Each one of these children who are going on these airplanes have lost a parent in military services—either combat related or illness or unfortunately suicide sometimes,” The Gary Sinise Foundation founder said. “We wanna take care of these kids and make sure they know we don’t forget.”
The families took 15 planes and stayed at Disney for five days, The Epoch Times reports.

I have met him and been involved in some of his projects.
He is a great guy.

I admire his work, but I wondered where does he get the money to make these events happen? Since he was never a huge star?
Perhaps it is done the old fashioned way; via donations and contributions.
Non profits such as church groups aren’t the only ones who can do this. Excellent. He is truly doing God’s Work in my opinion. With a different Pope, Gary might be considered for canonization. Though I don’t believe that’s ever done while the subject is still alive.
If I remember correctly, his role as Lt Dan on Gump started his interest in the fallen / wounded warrior consciousness.
Yes, he has a foundation, and a bunch of corporate sponsors including American Airlines. I don’t know any details but looking at their foundation website it looks like a pretty sizable, professional operation. He must have had success with quite a few millions of $$ in fundraising I would guess.

They’ve built a number of homes for them as well as having events like this one.
