Yes, treat it as unreported income, and impose the top rate income tax on any transfer our of the country. These funds are earmarked for the wall.

Come April 15th they can file and report the income sources for each transfer and their total annual income and get a refund on any excess withholding, just like the rest of us.

President Trump is going to need to show a direct link to Mexico paying for the wall, because many Americans are too stupid to understand MEX indirectly paid for it thru re-negotiated NAFTA or savings on cost of benefits illegals use up.

If he doesn't, it will be hung around his neck like GHWB's no new taxes pledge. Tax Mexico remittances, have a border entry tax from Mexico, stop foreign aid to Mexico ($85 million), etc. Remittances to Mexico are on pace to be $32 billion in 2018. A 10% tax and there's $3 billion for the wall.

Globally, migrants sent an estimated $574 billion to their home countries in 2016 In Latin America and the Caribbean – together remittances rose to $74.3 billion. Put a 10% tax on these amounts. This would fund the wall an a whole lot more.

[Tax the money sent back to Mejico....]

Been saying that for years. 25% to 33%.

Put that on Mexico. That will get their attention, real quick-like.

Make it a fee of some sort. Collect it immediately at the source (like a Wal*Mart).

Pay for the wall and more money will stay in America. Win-win.

A 2 or 3% tax on remittances could help pay for it. I don’t know about the cryptocurrency approach. A lot of the little guys who voted for our President might want to make a small donation, but would have no idea how to use Bitcoin or something like that.
