there needs to be an action by citizens to flood the I-66 with single driver cars and grid lock this highway from the beltway in. I have heard that the state troopers hate this assignment.It would be like dumping the tea in Boston harbor again. It wont happen though cause the gov workers are highly compensated with federal perks that the real workers in this area pay for.
Something about flashing lights behind ME cause my engine control module to go into Limp Home mode.

The passing lane is for....passing. Once you are past and there is no one to pass, get out of the passing lane. A safe passing maneuver is quickly done, not gradually.
A “beemer” doesn’t get past me until I pass the car I am passing. I will exceed the speed limit, reasonably, to pass a slower car.
People will set their cruise control in the far left lane and consider that passing. It stupid and self centered. I pass mostly in the right lane new. On a three by 2 (6 lane) interstate I think people now assume the left lane is for good/smart/above average drivers and the right is for bad/stupid drivers. Hence 60+ percent drive in the left lane. Not pass in the left but drive in it. People are self centered absorbed idiots now. Stupid also.

Sound like you have it down to a science. Slowing down in the passing lane. Might even check your cell phone since your not passing.
Passing is not going a mile or two faster than the other car IMHO. Accelerate and pass, get over. Repeat. I will say that people will ride others bumper the not go any faster when the lead car gets over. Odd dynamics and behavior on the commute can be observed.
My favorite one is people slowing down a half mile before their exit. Why? Cars going 50 on the interstate because they are getting ready to decelerate on the off ramp. Makes each exit a choke point.
People are so self centered these days and completely devoid of common sense and common courtesy. I drive fast. I will get occasional speeding ticket. That’s on me. Why are some self appointed sheriff fife types?
