President Trump on Sunday blamed the FBI's search of the office of his former attorney, Michael Cohen, for causing his longtime associate to turn against him.
"Remember, Michael Cohen only became a 'Rat' after the FBI did something which was absolutely unthinkable & unheard of until the Witch Hunt was illegally started. They BROKE INTO AN ATTORNEY’S OFFICE!" Trump wrote on Twitter.
The president questioned why the FBI did not "break into" the offices of the Democratic National Committee or his 2016 campaign opponent, Hillary Clinton.
The FBI in April raided Cohen's home, office and hotel room, seizing troves of documents and computer files. The search warrants for the raids came in part based on a referral from special counsel Robert Mueller's office.
Cohen last week was sentenced to three years in prison for multiple federal crimes he pleaded guilty to months after the raids, including bank fraud, tax fraud and campaign finance law violations he said he committed at Trump's direction when he paid two women to keep quiet about alleged affairs with the president.
At his sentencing, Cohen said he took "full responsibility for each act that I pled guilty to, the personal ones to me and those involving the president of the United States of America."
Cohen, who once said he would take a bullet for the president, told ABC in an interview after his sentencing that he acted out of loyalty to Trump. He added that Trump knew the payments were wrong.
Trump said he did not direct Cohen to break the law, and argued that Cohen's crimes were "all unrelated" to him other than the campaign finance violations, which the president insisted were not criminal.
The president has regularly lashed out at his own law enforcement agencies and officials while in office. He has repeatedly attacked Mueller, who is investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election, lambasted former FBI Director James Comey and targeted numerous other Justice Department officials.
Both are likely dubious.
He shouldn’t have kept the child blowup Barbie Dolls in his lower desk drawer...now they have leverage!
It is all aimed at one thing, bring down Trump, regardless of the cost, to the nation as a whole. The scum of the left do not care about the nation or what happens to it. They want it torn down. They want it to be destroyed. They do not care if it goes down in flames, the hotter the better, it what they want. Destroy Trump!!!

Cohen was a lawyer. If he felt Trump was directing him to do something illegal why did he do it? Cohen could have just told Trump to pound sand and said I quit.
I am just an ordinary person with no legal training, yet I always have been aware of the sacredness of Attorney/Client privilege...It is one of our best defenses.
Words cannot even be formed in a sentence to describe how devastated I was when this was revealed. I don’t know how any one else felt, but not a day goes by, that I don’t feel a little depressed when I think of that awful day, because it was like a rape of one of our basic protections

The Hill is lying to us: there was no campaign finance violation. The President's then attorney paid money to a couple floozies for a non-disclosure agreement. The President repaid Cohen from his personal funds.
The MSM media, and "The Hill" is most assuredly a part of that DemoRat cabal, are trying desperately as is the illegal Mulehead Gang to make this private transaction into a "campaign finance violation". The "Kerry" case shows this to be what it is: a bridge too far.
The illegitimate Mulehead team can call it what they want, and certainly they are trying desperately to hang anything on Trump (So how is this related to Ruskie campaign interference?) to give the DemonRat Congress grounds to impeach. But guilty pleadings by Cohen honestly mean nothing other than he was being pressed to sign on under duress, under threat of longer sentences he agreed to call an apple a banana.

They indicted, tried, convicted and sentenced Cohen already, even had him plead guilty to something that is not a crime and not ONE SINGLE SOLITARY PEEP from the “Republican” party which BTW supposedly holds both houses besides the WH.
