Some residents of small-town Sardis, Miss. say they are very troubled at officials’ decision to knowingly crown a registered sex offender as “Grand Marshal” of their annual Christmas parade, according to a report from KAIT. Carolyn Whaley, who owns The Eclectic Emporium on Main Street where the Christmas parade passed by on Tuesday, says “everyone in Sardis knows that Michael Saripkin, the Grand Marshal, is a sex offender,” KAIT reports. “Everybody knows that; it’s a small town,” Whaley said. “It doesn’t bother me. He’s a very nice, friendly man. He has donated more money, helped the fire department, helped the police department [and] encouraged businesses to come here.”... Records show Saripkin, a business man, was convicted for a third sex crime in 2013, in Mississippi, for “inappropriately touching a child as a person of trust,” KAIT reports. Prior to his most recent Mississippi conviction, he was convicted in Tennessee of statutory rape in 1997 and with sexual battery in 1990.

Chamber members told WMC-TV they knew Saripkin is a sex offender. They said Saripkin has done a lot for the town. They said what he has done in the past is not what counts, but what he is doing now.
The chamber said in a statement that Saripkin was riding in a private vehicle in the parade that was driven by a member of the chamber.

How does someone get convicted as a sex offender for the second time get allowed to escape the gallows out of prison?
Aside from that, who in hell decides a two time sex offender should be placed in a "position of trust" with a child?
Who thought it would be a good idea for him to represent the town as the Grand Marshall of a parade?
Who thought it would be good idea for him to preside over an event likely attended by children?
Is he a member of the local clergy now or in past?
he was caught 23 times ? that generally means there are hundreds of times he wasn’t caught.
