Nunes: ‘We need an Office of Transparency’ to declassify documents

Plausible Deniability: Frustrated by the lack of progress on holding guilty parties involved in the dubious Obama-era “Spygate” scandal accountable, outgoing House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes said there should be an “Office of Transparency” connected to the White House that is responsible for deciding which documents can be declassified and released to the public.

“Our investigation is essentially over. We have everything that we need. What we’re lacking now is that we’re lacking the declassification by the president,” Nunes, R-Calif., told Fox News of his panel’s look into the handling of the “Russia” inquiry by the Justice Department and the FBI, the Washington Examiner reported.

“For various reasons, the president or his staff doesn’t want to do it. Therefore, I think it’s important if the president doesn’t want his hands on it, we have to have somebody, some office, that’s going to look at all of these issues and all of these documents that need to be declassified,” Nunes added.

Trump already has that power. He has just chosen not to use it, for whatever reason. Delegating more executive authority to more bureaucrats is not the answer.

Indeed. One wonders why Trump doesn’t start releasing documents on Mueller, Crossfire Hurricane, FISA, Papadopoulos, etc...

Oh yeah. 3D chess...

I think it’s 4D chess. Of course, it could also be timidity on the part of his so-called “advisors”.

Sounds a lot like the Ministry of Truth or Minitrue. Nunes is an idiot if he actually beleives the nonsense he is spouting. Congress has all the power it needs to uncover the truth. The Republicans are about to learn just how powerful Congress can be when held by people who understand how to wield power.

A new ministry will become another big government tool in the left just like every other program based on Republican fantasies.
