Sad story but the family seems to want to have the best of both worlds. Live in the USA but keep close ties with Yemen. My family came here from Ireland whey back when and stayed here. Sorry but you want the culture of Yemen and the benefits of the USA and sometimes that doesn't work out.

Oh I guess we better let everyone in then so she can get in instead of making an exception for her.
/s
Wheres the rest of the story ???
The woman is the wife of an American citizen...whats wrong with her that shes personally banned from the US ???
The ban is for people who have no ties to the US who have never been here before etc...
Did the State Dept know about this situation before it was fed to the media ???
The child has been here for 5 months why didn’t the mother come with the child or come here since ???
Maybe its her country/religion etc that’s keeping her there...
Is the father a moslem ??? then maybe it was him who refused to bring her here...
I don’t care
Yes, innocents do pay a price in any situation where it is difficult to identify the innocent from the trouble makers.
Yes, police have been known to stop every motorist on a road on a weekend nite, doing an alcohol check to try to spot the drunks before they injure or kill someone on the road. All the innocent drivers are treated as potential drunks until the police decide they are not.
Vetting folks from Middle East conflict zones is 100s of times harder if not impossible, with past history of too high a rate of error.
And the point of this story is....????
Send the whole family back where they came from.
Selective narrative.
Mommie is stuck in Egypt.
Daddy brought child from Sweden.
Trump’s fault.
My “Things to care about” list...
Ok, this does not make the top 1000 list. It could be higher or lower but it appears that meaningful details have been left out of this story.
Yemeni, Sweden, Egypt..USA... What up with all that hoppin around? Only people with a professional designation of Terrorist or Money Launderer has that kind of passport...
she can’t get in legally?
My give a damn thingy appears to be broken.
This man-bun “father” is 22, but has SEVEN children with mom? Good God, how old is the mother?
Sad to see. I’d think Trump could issue a waiver/reprieve. With stipulations.
Since when did the Dems switch from baby killing to worrying about their lives ?
Boo freakin Hoo! If ya didn’t belong to a mohamicidal murder cult it would be a different story!
Two generations went back to Yemen to look for wives, they created this situation themselves. The problem here is failed assimilation.
FaceTime?
Critical Theory is about simply criticizing:
It calls for the most destructive criticism possible, in every possible way, designed to bring the current order down.
The radical feminism, the womens studies departments, the gay studies departments, the black studies departments all these things are branches of Critical Theory. What the Frankfurt School essentially does is draw on both Marx and Freud in the 1930s to create this theory called Critical Theory.
The term is ingenious because youre tempted to ask, What is the theory? The theory is to criticize. The theory is that the way to bring down Western culture and the capitalist order is not to lay down an alternative. They explicitly refuse to do that. They say it cant be done, that we cant imagine what a free society would look like (their definition of a free society).
As long as were living under repression the repression of a capitalistic economic order which creates (in their theory) the Freudian condition, the conditions that Freud describes in individuals of repression we cant even imagine it.
What Critical Theory is about is simply criticizing. It calls for the most destructive criticism possible, in every possible way, designed to bring the current order down. And, of course, when we hear from the feminists that the whole of society is just out to get women and so on, that kind of criticism is a derivative of Critical Theory. It is all coming from the 1930s, not the 1960s.

I wonder how long the chronicle spent before they found a story like this.
