As for who pays, money’s fungible. We can very easily take it out of Mexico’s hide.

Then they will give us 1.5 billion over the next 5 years.

A wall would only serve to maintain law and order.
As well as protect American citizens.
Our tax money and jobs would not go to illegal occupiers but to our own struggling citizens.

The most straightforward way to make Mexico pay for the wall is to impose a high tax on all remittances sent by Mexican nationals (and their families) back to Mexico. The minor tweaks to NAFTA under USMCA won't generate substantive additional tax revenue, certainly not enough to pay for the wall or border enforcement more generally.

I think Trump should have addressed the nation. Go on National TV @ 8pm regarding national security. Tell the people about the amount of drugs, criminals that come across our southern border. State the percentage of illegal aliens in our state and federal prisons. How much not having a wall is costing our country annually. SPELL IT OUT directly to the people. Ask the people to call their congressman and demand a vote.
