Judge Sullivan is elderly and confused but is clearly enjoying his 15 minutes of fame. But if you are expecting real justice or sound judicial reasoning, forget it. Just another judge seizing his opportunity and craving to exercise power.

I’ll take it one step further. I wonder if the judge went off the rails in that hearing because he WANTS to get off the case.

I wouldn’t assume too much in this case. Let’s wait to see how it plays out.

I keep wondering where these Liberals come from that makes them think they are so much better than the rest of us?

Is there a secret location they go to where they are gifted with superhuman knowledge?

Are they descended from gods?

That black robe has no more magic than does Frosty the Snowman’s hat.

Maybe the judge knows that if he knowingly convicts an innocent man, he’ll never sleep well at night again.

I agree with the solution - recuse....I don’t really care if he apologized. Aren’t we all sick to death of the phony apologies when it would take a nanosecond for people to watch their words and never need to apologize. A judge on the bench - how many years - who hasn’t learned to control his emotions and his tongue... Remember how the idiots blasted Kavanaugh for being emotional and everyone just KNEW he’d be emotional ON the bench at the Supreme Court. The man had every right to be emotional - he was being attacked PERIOD! This judge was not attacked and was terribly unprofessional and I say again - his apology is meaningless. Everyone now knows what kind of man he is and you know what? We all seem to care more about that behavior than Flynn and his attorneys do. THAT I don’t understand!

I believe that there is precedent for a judge being a witness for the prosecution.

Blackadder court-martial trial

I think there is something wrong with this trial but I can't quite put my finger on it. Enjoy.

And to serve as my co-counsel, the principal chose Dagoberto, my best friend in the world.

Dagoberto? Sounds like the name of a comic book superhero sidekick.

I am more convinced than ever that a) this collection of geographic entities is NOT a nation; b) it cannot be governed because of sheer size; c) no matter who holds office, the boulder keeps rolling downhill, stripping our freedoms away; and d) only We the people can take back our freedoms.

Judge Sullivan Must Recuse Himself From Flynn Case

Yeah, sure, right.
Don’t hold your breath.
The only way all this BS is going to stop is when “Big Windy “ fires Mueller.

He must do much more than recuse (which he won’t). He must resign and be disbarred.

He simply doesn’t have the judgment nor the temperament to work in the legal system.

Had to search for the name of the author, which I would rather have seen in the opening data. This article is by Julio Gonzalez, M.D., J.D.

“I believe that General Flynn lied to the FBI and in so doing broke the law. “

Ironically, you undermine your entire statement with an assumption in the face of no evidence of such a “belief”.

I didn’t believe that he lied when he was charged. I didn’t believe that he “lied” when he was convicted.

I truly do not believe that he “lied” with what we now know, but I also concede that I also lack evidence for my beliefs.

Occam’s Razor: You state yourself that you believe that Flynn was “set up to lie”. In FBI-speak, a “misstatement” is a lie, as is an “error in recollection”. A different matter altogether is the alleged lie he told to the administration. I don’t have those details, but I have trouble believing the allegations. OR dictates that it is more plausible that that, too, is an FBI fabrication.

I’m still inclined to believe that Flynn was railroaded from the get-go. Still, that is what I ‘believe’...I’m just not going through conniption fits to rationalize my position.

Yet still we agree: Sullivan has no business being involved in this case.

Great story, btw.

It seems reasonably certain to me that Flynn accepted a plea deal to plead guilty to lesser charges in order to avoid prosecution, of not just himself but his son, on other unrelated charges.

That’s why he refuses to change his plea despite the charges being fairly blatantly bogus, and I suspect all the theatre from Sullivan regarding the severity of the charges to which he’s pled guilty is some sort of attempt to force that plea deal out into the open.

I’ve largely kept my mouth shut about all this for quite some time, uncharacteristically. That’s because I’m pretty certain there’s a lot more going on than we’ll ever know.
