House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) unsuccessfully sought to force a vote on a stopgap measure Thursday to keep the government funded through the end of the year.
After the chair ruled Pelosis motion was out of order, the House voted to table the appeal of that ruling in a 187-170 vote.
Pelosis measure would have funded the rest of the government through Sept. 30 while extending a number of programs.
Republicans are scrambling to reach a deal to fund the government that meets President Trumps demand for $5 billion in funding for his wall. Its not clear if a vote with $5 billion for the wall can pass the House.
Trump said Thursday he wont support legislation needed to avert a looming government shutdown if it doesnt meet his demand. Parts of the government will shut down Saturday without a new funding measure.
Have funding bills replaced Budgets ? So they can spend and spend and spend ?
5 billion is about a quarter of a penny to most people. Is that worth closing down your precious gummit Dingbat?
“Parts of the government will shut down Saturday without a new funding measure”
And life will go on.
hmmmm $5 billion has never seemed like a quarter of a penny to me, but I guess I don’t come from your rich stock. ;^)

Crown! Let’s see some stretchmarks on that tight, angry face!... more botox!!!
It needs to be shut down until schumer actually negotiates. Tell the media to go to hell and take the issue directly to the people.
Have b, will slap...
What is so hard about spending money?
That’s about the only thing they know how to do in DC.
Republicans control the bill writing process.
It must be at most 200 lines of text, 20 to vote the money and the rest to ensure the courts can’t stop construction.
All the language is on my computer, and theirs.
Is there anything online about where the wall segments should be built?
Have funding bills replaced Budgets?
Yes.
If it can’t pass the house, then there is a real problem
Welcome to the party, pal. There arent 50 Members of Congress that want a wall, and essentially zero Senators.
I’m more concern about legal reform than wall.
If it was a choice between wall and ending the asylum scam, end the asylum scam by denouncing the Asylum Convention and changing US statutory asylum law.
¡Hastan prisa!
CNN’s Jim Acosta reports that a shutdown now appears likely.
