How many more years would that have took? How much longer before we heard "ISIS defeated, time to pull out"?
I suggest never. We have permanently broken the Middle East. We’re stuck there IMO.
We already know that ignoring the area and trying to bandaid it from afar got us 9/11. If left unchecked, they will regroup, re-energize and attack again. They cannot be left unmolested.
Blame Clinton, Bush 2, Obama, etc. There is plenty to go around. But it’s broken and I don’t think it will ever be fixed. It’s the modern day 38th parallel.
