The roots of ISIS (et al) will not be defeated militarily,

Don't be too sure about that. A couple of Abombs put the fear of God into the Shintos. Massive carpet bombing shut down the Nazi cult too. History shows it takes a massive azz whupin to change their ideologies!

Caliph Erdogan should have learned the lesson from Machiavelli, “Never do an enemy a small injury.”

Or as Emerson re-phrased it, “When you strike a king you must kill him.”

Well Erdogan’s people ran the Khashoggi story to try to unseat the Saudi Prince (MBS). But MBS survived.

Now that Saudi Prince is going to become the patron of the Kurds - specifically the Kurdish group that would most like to see Erdogan dead or out of power. They could probably stir up quite a bit of trouble for Erdogan among Turkey’s large and growing domestic Kurdish population as well.

Maybe now those Kurds have a new ally who hates Erdogan as much as them - Middle East style.

"...The roots of ISIS (et al) will not be defeated militarily, they have to be defeated ideologically.... "

Horse puckey. ISIS, like Islam, is an idea. Especially with the advent of the Internet, no idea ever altogether goes away. So they can just get that notion of "ideological defeat" out of their pointed little heads. It's just like smallpox. It might have been defeated in the wild but there's still samples of it stashed away in some secret laboratory somewhere. And so long as those samples remain, there's always the possibility it could break out back into the wild.

Because they're never getting rid of the idea. The only options are 1) Submit, or 2) Play Whac-a-muzzy for so long as they care to offer their heads to be smashed.

And even when they finally quit presenting their heads to be bashed in, never let your mallet out of your sight. Because eventually and invariably, they'll be coming for you again.

If there's a lesson to be learned from the last 1400 years of dealing with the Mohammedans, it's that.

The left losing their sh*t over pull outs of Afghanistan and Syria is priceless.

The reaction of MSNBC's Rachel Maddow to the Syrian draw down is especially funny, considering she wrote a best selling book about America's endless wars just six years ago.

Obama was the father of ISIS. The left and #NeverTrumptards bemoaning leaving Afghanistan and Syria is pathetic and asinine.

Is it in the interests of the 3 countries to have an independent Kurdistan? Seems we’re the only ones. Biden had it right.

Lets see if I have this correct.

1. Saudi Arabia and the UAE have sent military forces to areas controlled by the Kurdish YPG group in north-east Syria. An area between the Kurdish PKK/YPG and Daesh in the Deir Ez-Zor countryside.

As soon as US Troops pull out . . . . the following actions take place.

2. Ankara (Turkey) is preparing to launch an expanded military operation with the Free Syrian Army against the Kurdish PKK group in the northeast of Syria.

3. Russian forces currently in Syria will take action to restrain Hezbollah and Iranian activity. Russia will continue to give Israel the freedom to strike Hezbollah and Iranian targets and weaponry that threaten the “balance of power” in Syria.

According to the Jordanian official, it was these understandings between Trump and Putin that paved the way for the U.S. decision to pull its forces from Syria.

5. Syrian troops massing Tabaqa and Manjib

It was announced Dec 20, French troops were being sent in to replace US Troops.

France to replace US in Syria

Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates guarding Kurds from Turkey while Russia, Israel and Syria fight remnants of ISIS, Hezbollah and Iranian interests.

Send in the French . . . . . what can go wrong?

By the way a Christmas postcard from Syria

He's a ponderer. Sits everyone down....and he listens. It's really the same format as The Apprentice. He's comfortable at a table.

He's like a happy gambler....winds up with the whole pot. Takes it home and arranges it in stacks

Grabs the "best stack" and tells the players thanks for their contribution.

He seems to do it consistently.

Just look at the little "live" meeting with Schumer and Pelosi. They made asses of themselves...and Trump still said Thanks for your contribution...which was "0".

"Just look at the little "live" meeting with Schumer and Pelosi. They made asses of themselves.."

I'm no expert on body language, I didn't listen to the actual audio.

The negativity flowing from pelousi was intensely palpable.

schemer was hilarious, he immediately knew President Trump had punked them.

The greatest live interview I've had the pleasure of laughing at.

The important thing is that the Kurds are protected. Too often, the US has left those that supported us to be destroyed...like after Nam and the Montanyards. (SP)

If they are taken care of, with the help of others, that's great. Then I fully support Trump getting us out of Syria.

Glad we’re getting out of it. It’s going to be a mess before it’s over. Good move by P Trump.
