Saudi Arabia and UAE sending troops to help Kurds in Syria

There have been some intriguing developments related to Syria that are now being reported in the wake of President Trump’s announcement of the withdrawal of U.S. troops.

To begin with, it appears that the Kurds will be getting support from America’s regional allies.

Saudi Arabia and the UAE have sent military forces to areas controlled by the Kurdish YPG group in north-east Syria, Turkey’s Yenisafak newspaper reported.

Furthermore, a Jordanian official reports that Russian forces currently in Syria will take action to restrain Hezbollah and Iranian activity there, according to understandings reached by the U.S., Israel, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The understandings are the product of behind-the-scenes diplomatic talks that were underway prior to U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision this week to withdraw American forces from Syria.

Trump is rearranging the chess pieces. Let the Saudis and UAE help their Sunni allies in their centuries old blood feuds. The US should get the hell out.

Does Susan Rice know about this?

What about Liz Cheney?

“Rushed to judgement”
“Ignored his advisers”
“Making us less safe”

Time will tell, it seems.

Also read the three tweets in this thread. Again nothing about it in the US press.

https://twitter.com/HeshmatAlavi/status/1076103563082940418

Note the link to this article in the first tweet;

https://www.yenisafak.com/en/world/france-says-daesh-has-not-been-wiped-from-map-in-syria-3469694

Here’s a quote from that article; “But it has not been wiped from the map nor has its roots. It is necessary that the last pockets of this terrorist organisation be definitively defeated militarily.”

The roots of ISIS (et al) will not be defeated militarily, they have to be defeated ideologically. That’s the reason for Saudi and UAE, probably through the GCC, getting more involved. This goes back to Trump’s ME meeting in 2017, and the commitment those Arab leaders made there to fight that ideological war.

Trump did his homework before announcing the withdrawal. Well done!

ISIS became a force when GWB disbanded the Iraqi military. That’s an interesting hypothesis.

I say ISIS became a force when Obama decided to over throw Assad in Syria. He along with McCain were funding the rebels including ISIS.

Once again, Mr. Trump is two or three steps ahead of the muldoons inside the beltway and the leaders of the rest of the world. He has used our so called allies to do their duty that aligns with our foreign policy goals at the same time letting them claim a victory for themselves. They don’t teach this stuff in the Ivy League. We need to send everyone in the State Department to attend to critical Indian Affairs issues in the various Indian Reservations across the nation. Before they go, we can teach them how to deal black jack and Texas Hold ‘em poker.

Pulling out of Syria is a mistake, They said.
Mattis resigning shows no one is in charge They said.
Trump is out of his mind, They said.

Trump agrees with Erdogan and those in the know ISIS is so far gone its hard to find them anymore, They are silent.

Saudi Arabia makes a deal with the Yemeni Rebels that undercutting Iran, They are silent.
Saudi Arabia can now move in where U.S. forces are leaving, They are silent.
Trump follows through on what he said he would do, They are silent.

That Obama gave the green light for this, mismanaged the war, which lead to ISIS nearly taking over Syria, They are silent.

Once again proving, They are the biggest liars around.

What a surprise. It appears Trump actually worked the room before his announcement. Who would have guessed that he took care of business quietly behind the scenes and the media were (and are) clueless as to what is happening.

“But it has not been wiped from the map nor has its roots. It is necessary that the last pockets of this terrorist organisation be definitively defeated militarily.”

With US troops being withdrawn, ISIS no longer has the option of surrendering to US forces (who would then be obligated under the Laws of War to ensure their safe conduct to POW holding areas).

The Kurds will kill the ISIS forces, and the US military will not have the blood from that massacre on their hands.
