Residents of New Jersey were given a deadline to turn in their gun magazines or become felons overnight, and so far, no one is complying.

Citizens were given a December 11 deadline on their new ban on standard capacity magazines. The law effectively turned one million law abiding gun owners into criminals, literally over night if they failed to turn in the magazines.

According to Ammoland.com, who says they spoke with multiple police departments throughout the state, no one has turned in their magazines.
According to the report:
Two sources from within the State Police, who spoke to AmmoLand on condition of anonymity, told AmmoLand News that they both do not know of any magazines turned over to their agency and doubted that any were turned in. They also stated that the State Police also engaged the AG's office for guidance on how to respond to inquiries such as ours. They were unaware if the Attorney General has returned to their request for guidance. All the local police departments that AmmoLand contacted stated that they have not had any magazines turned into them.
AmmoLand has filed a Freedom of Information Act request with The New Jersey State Police to get an official count of the number of magazines turned in by New Jersey citizens. We will update the story if our FOIA request is fulfilled.
This act of disobedience is the only way that law-abiding citizens can effectively and peacefully fight back against the gun grabbers. And so far, it has been effective.

This is the same thing that happened in CT. A vast majority of the magazines (Statistically) weren’t registered.
But now when you speak out against Malloy and he wants to lead an investigation into you (Which he is known to do.. Lamont and Blumenthal as well) they’ll find it and incarcerate you.
How many were turned in is not the point here. And the low numbers show “resistance” but it also shows exactly what the state wants.. To jail us.
this is why firearm confiscation will never happen in america
The "other half", though, will see a BIG problem with that. And that is mainly the "well-armed militia" half....
Did you really think we want those laws observed?” said Dr. Ferris. “We want them to be broken. You’d better get it straight that it’s not a bunch of boy scouts you’re up against... We’re after power and we mean it... There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What’s there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted and you create a nation of law-breakers and then you cash in on guilt. Now that’s the system, Mr. Reardon, that’s the game, and once you understand it, you’ll be much easier to deal with.
Atlas Shrugged
Electrified grates on windows, too.
Genius.
Give them Hell Jersey
Yes you can destroy them, you could give them to somebody out of state, you could store them. The storage is ridiculous, usual places allowed to store them charge $1.25 each per month, for the magazines that Cabelas sells for $7.99 new.
New Jersey because hell is full.
As is all blue states. My eyes are on California.
Once again, in the face of gun control laws, be sure to advocate for “common sense socialism control”. It’s for the children.
It is common sense that we do not permit socialism in our schools. School and government buildings need to be marked as “socialism free zones”.
Socialists need to be licensed by the state, and checked against a federal database to insure that they are not socialism offenders or mentally ill.
Readers should only be able to buy one socialist book a week, from a licensed Class III socialist book dealer.
All socialist paraphernalia must be marked with warning labels listing the crimes and homicide associated with socialism.
“Nope, said the Supreme Court in 1970. The 6th Amendment only applies for an offense carrying a penalty of 6 months or more imprisonment. That was a terrible, terrible ruling, and somehow it still stands to this day.
So all New Jersey has to do is charge those folks with some kind of crime carrying a penalty of 6 months imprisonment or less. Then you can ask for a jury all day long. You wont get one. Your fate is completely in the hands of some establishment judge.
Someone wants a jury trial in this kind if case, they get it.
By the way, when I left New Jersey nearly 20 years ago, I let my wife know when we crossed the border into Delaware that she would no longer have to bail me out of jail. She asked why, and I explained this law (then for over 15 round mags) to her. She asked me how many I had, and I responded that sitting about 18 inches behind my ass was approximately 200 years worth in Rahway State Prison. She turned white as a sheet and said nothing for about 30 seconds, and then inquired as to whether Texas had any laws like this. Fortunately, then and now, I can report that Texas is in America, so there are no laws like that.
With NJ’s logic, you could be arrested on your way to turn them in after the ban goes into effect.
> Failure to obey this law is a 4th degree felony, punishable by up to 18 months in prison and a fine of up to $10,000. Per count. <
I’ve thought about that. I’m no lawyer. But I wonder if NJ could find some way to work around that. “Your honor, we will only ask for a maximum 6 month sentence.” If that flies, then no jury trial.
Side story: The Feds wanted Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio neutralized. So they charged him with an offense that carried a maximum 6 month sentence. Joe asked for a jury trial. He didn’t get it.
Laws like this will be enforced when an owner of an illegal magazine is investigated for any crime resulting in the search of his premises. Perhaps even convicting him of the illegal possession of magazines in a plea bargain opting out of an expensive trial for a greater crime.
No, it is the maximum potential penalty that governs. That’s what also loses you the right to vote or own guns, even if the sentence is for one day.
What passes as New Jersey Urban Camo? Trench-coat for winter?
This is what RESIST is all about. To my last breath.
New Jersey needs a lot more prisons to handle these scofflaws. Better yet, build some gulags. They can hold more people more cheaply even though they aren't nearly as comfy. It will serve the kulaks, hooligans, and wreckers right!
It’ll be a “tack-on” charge I’m sure. I’m sure the fine will be astronomical, and as you say, will muddy the waters in a self-defense situation.
