There are plenty of islands out there in waters the US controls.
I say drop the dregs of society on it and move on....etc...etc
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
The mines will become more effective if the island is on the route the Slavers took where the sharks still roam looking for the ‘free meals’ that the slavers were just tossing all that VALUABLE cargo overboard just to have something to do.

(Remember the ‘history lesson we got from that GA dude John Lewis)

Rush ‘did the math’ and if Lewis’ #s right (200 million) it would have been a steady stream of men overboard.

Lewis said he had bad info and he meant to say 100 million but Rush again disproved it...

I am pretty sure Lewis numbers are BS perhaps half that number for all of the Western Hemisphere from 1500 to 1830 something. I will have to check some sources and will be back. In passing slavers wanted to get as many blackamoors as possible alive and landed at where ever. Those who died in transit over the side. If cholera broke out sometimes the whole cargo would be pushed off the fan tail. John Newton in his slaver days said he had seen this happen in the Bight of Guinea. Also later when the antislavery patrol by the Royal Navy and a bit by the USN was begun it was not uncommon when a slave patrol ship would chase a slaver for the slaver to toss a few blackamoors over the side knowing the pursuing vessel would have to come about and launch a boat to rescue the floundering blacks thus giving the slaver time to put on more canvas and try and get further ahead.
