But Turkey is getting friendlier with Russia, so Turkey must be our friend. Right? ;-D

This was back in 2016, and Turkey is no longer cozy with the rebels in Syria.

Erdogon is a true Islamic believer. In other words he has that special kind of insanity that makes for a truly evil leader.

Uh-oh. I hadn't read about that.

Something else that you might find interesting. Comment #6 and comment #16.

I've known the same for a long time, by the way. Some of those of us who grew up in the South and the Midwest in the '60s were educated in regards to other conditions in Russia and the Soviet Union, too. That material has been absent from public education for several decades now.

Will they be meeting at Trump Tower Istanbul?

Maybe Trump can convince Erdogan to release the thousands of completely innocent people that Erdogan put in prison after the fake coup d’état?

President Donald J.Trump is a very confident and competent player of multi-dimensional chess. Why should he not go?

Erdogan is a better player than Chuck Schumer or Nancy Pelosi? Just keep the cameras on and rolling the whole time, with an accurate translation coming out all through the meeting.

Trump is equally at ease sitting down with greatest of allies as he is with deadly enemies, who have sworn to take him down.

Trust the Force.

Is Syria destined for a carving up, long term?

With Turkey, the Kurds, and the Saudis (representing as well Israeli interests) all getting a slice?

If that’s the case, Iran would get a big slice.

Trump is the greatest statesman the world had known in centuries.
He has a greater grasp of strategy than anyone living. He is at the very least, 3 moves ahead of his opponents at every turn.

If Trump goes, it will be to secure strategic objectives, those that may not be apparent until months, years, even decades after the visit.
Unlike our idiotic short sighted politicians, Trump doesn’t deal in days, he deals in epochs.

I am a Trumpian. I support the President but this move with Turkey’s dictator seems, and I say seems very bizarre as Erdogan is a dictator who will now surely kill all the Kurds in that region a la’ 1916. Trump’s move is indeed puzzling. Anybody understand the geo-strategic added value here?

Erdogan is no friend of the US. He is in fact an enemy of all that is right and good. He would install an Islamic caliphate in all of Europe and the Middle East.
We should do everything possible to undermine him and expel his country from NATO.
