As allies go, Venezuela is a relatively cheap one for Russia. But the potential returns on Moscows investment there could be priceless.
In exchange for modest loans and bailouts over the past decade, Russia now owns significant parts of at least five oil fields in Venezuela, which holds the worlds largest reserves, along with 30 years worth of future output from two Caribbean natural-gas fields.

I’ll enjoy the Schadenfreude when a future Venezuelan despot comes to power by going to his impoverished people and railing against Russki Imperialism.
The Chavez/Maduro government did that with contractual agreements it disliked.
The Russians/Soviets have supported the expropriation of legally owned property all over the world.
Russia has more than two ways to enforce a contract.
They take such things seriously.
Nothing new...Russia and Venezuela has been doing this for years.
No wonder Venezuela is Broke.

The Venezuelan Commies think they can take the money and renege on the deal, like they have done so many times before on deals with Western Capitalists, Crony Capitalists and Governments.
It may not work this time if American DemoRats are unable to shill US intervention and the spending of US lives to support Communist theft.
All of it.
Gonna be interesting to see VZ leadership resorting to the old “It’s America’s fault you’re all poor!” chestnut when all of the checks are being sent to Moscow.
They don’t have any uranium to sell?

China left some meat on the carcass of Caracas for it’s minion.
Guess WashPost has no problem with a good socialist country devouring a nation.
