This is exactly what I said yesterday would happen.
It's possible that McConnell (who loathes a government shutdown most of all) might try to trade an agreement on DACA with Schumer, amending the House bill to add wall funding tied to some form of legalization for DACA children, or maybe asylum seekers with children. If this happens, then the new bill with wall funding goes back to the House.

Having thought about this for a while, I simply say, “No”.
No deal with the Democrats for wall funding at all. They must either accept responsibility for protecting the country from foreign invasion or be willing to see their beloved programs (i.e. SNAP, etc.) shut down PERMANENTLY. Either way, the conservative agenda WINS.
The 1/4 of the government that has been shut down may not need to exist.
The agreement must insist that the wall is built, actually built, before any other bargained for deals are implemented.

Look. As it stands right now, illegals have EVERY RIGHT they want, and are trashing all public systems ALREADY. Schools, jails, hospitals, etc.
You guys with the. “No deals! Walls or nothing!” Sound great but some of us are already living in sanctuary cities with no borders. We don’t have the luxury of yelling “pure Utopia or bust!”
Where is this 1960s America with borders where illegals can’t get every service and welfare and charity we have? Where is this pure America where there is ANY TROUBLE living here as an illegal? Even our local food pantry charities feed mostly people who shouldn’t be here. BUT THEY ARE HERE. Making legal American children. It’s been a few generations.
At this point there is NOTHING LOST if we trade anything at all including amnesty (can’t believe I’m saying that because it’s so wrong) for TRUE BORDER SECURITY INCLUDING WALL AND INCLUDING ENFORCING VISA LIMITS.
Seriously, people, look how far it has already gone and stop insisting on absolute purity. Let’s get the borders and visa ignoring CLOSED OFF. Expired travel visas let as many illegals in as the nonexistent border. If the wall is built, coyotes will just charter planes in and bring in tourists from Mexico and Central America by the planeload. No one here checks for expired visas.
