New Illinois Political Ad
KFVS-TV 12

Posted on 01/02/2019 4:52:03 PM PST by hanamizu

Saw a new political ad by "Friends of Mike J. Madigan" on TV a few minutes ago. Sad music, "They tried to take away healthcare" with a TV image of President Trump, "cut funding for breast-cancer screenings", again with image of Trump in background, "they even failed to act as our veterans died", but now a new day for Illinois, "to fight for affordable healthcare, equal pay for women...and for the wealthiest to pay their fair share" with a full screen pic of Trump's name on a skyscraper. It ends with Madigan (who apparently is the boss of Illinois) saying, "In the fights that lie ahead democrats are on your side."

I live across the river in Missouri, but we get blessed with Illinois ads. I seem to remember that cutting back on breast-cancer/prostate-cancer screenings was a feature of ObamaCare, but what do I know? Anyway, it illustrates their mindset and what we can look forward to.

I thought Illinois went so broke they couldn’t pay their own lottery winnings.

People, productive people, are leaving Illinois at an alarming rate, several per hour every day. If Illinois had mountains it could be California.

Madigan was the boogie man the GOP used as the personification of the corruption in Illinois politics (and rightly so); this is his revenge.

With the results of the November election, Illinois is well on the way to becoming a one-party state, and that will only accelerate the death-spiral the state is in. All the crap laid out in that commercial will be used as justification for a progressive income tax; the only progress there will be an acceleration of the of exodus of productive people from the state. Madigan will enjoy his victory lap now, and when the whole house of cards comes crashing down, he’ll be retired with a cushy government pension somewhere (I’m betting Florida), nicely augmented by whatever graft he’s been able to accumulate as the state’s biggest fixer.

For the last several years, Ill-Annoy lost about 33,000 residents per year fleeing The Combine. Last year it was closer to 45,000. The upcoming year will show that Ill-Annoy will indeed become the epicenter for the Anti-Trump Resistance Movement, likely housed at the Soetoro Lie-Barry, with the efforts led by Boss Madigan and Boss Hog Prickster. They will be assisted by RINO NeverTrumpers. There is a downstate Counter-Resistance Movement but they don’t have the numbers to fight the Chicago Machine.

They now control the whole shebang in a state that they have bankrupted. Let’s see how they deliver. Will the people of Illinois finally make them own this mess? I’m pretty sure the hopeless Chicago area won’t.

I am moving from Illinois soon. This man (Madigan) is a cancer that is destroying this once-great state. Glad Lincoln can’t see what it has become.

... for the wealthiest to pay their fair share...

I agree. According to the GAO, the top 10% of income earners in the US pay for 72% of the IRS tax revenues. Therefore, the wealthy should get a huge tax cut so they can pay their fair share. As to the 51% of the US population who pay no taxes at all, the rest of us 49% are getting a little PO'ed at supporting your lazy ass. How 'bout this: Everyone pays a 17% income tax, no deductions whatsoever. After all, if 51% of you have no skin in the game, I don't even think you should be voting in Federal elections.

SALT is about to clobber the liberal rich, and the upper-middle class in Illinois. For the first time, they are going to get to pay “THEIR FAIR SHARE!” of what the Illinois Democrats have done.

The screaming is going to commence in about 3 weeks. Mark these words.

So they need to establish counter-narratives right now.

Amen to that.

Illinois may be broke, but the “Friends of Michael J Madigan” aren’t.

“..and for the wealthiest to pay their fair share...”

They did that in the last tax bill (limit $10,000 tax deduction) and look at the Hollywood elite, Ca. crazies, Progressive elite, searching for ways to break the law to avoid paying their fair share!!!

The problem in Illinois is the same as everywhere else.

The poor and not so poor need to pay their share. Even if they don’t think it is fair.

The poor will always be with us so they need to get with it and pay up

Madigan will enjoy his victory lap now,

Illinois politics is fairly close to an inflection point. There is no history in the state of political overthrow. Everybody there is trying to envision how it can happen.

Madigan will not go quietly. I predict assassination in the manner of banana republics. It'll be some sort of "accident". Not that I care because I don't live in the state. That was just my impression from visiting over the holidays.

They are not paying healthcare, can’t pay Illinois pensions either. “Try to take away breast screens “ is slur implying Planned Parenthood funds much of anything except abortion of black babies .
