Fifteen Democrats voted against returning Nancy Pelosi to the Speaker's chair on Thursday, short of the dozens who originally pledged to oppose her return to power. The defectors, nearly all freshman lawmakers, didn't all cast their votes for a single alternative candidate.
Three Democrats, Rep. Jim Cooper (Tenn.) and freshman lawmakers Elissa Slotkin (Mich.) and Jeff Van Drew (N.J.), voted "present," which allowed them to avoid casting a vote in favor of Pelosi without endorsing an actual alternative.

How soon before piglosy orders her new 787? Or probably an airbus A380 knowing her.
So Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez punked out and voted for San Fran Nan?
Gee, what a surprise, the sycophant who “represents” me wasn’t on this list.
Just kabuki.
Slotkin and the others ran as modern Blue Dogs but it’s a crock.
They’re just statist trash who want to shake down everyone else for some shekels and kick them to the side of the road after the robbery.
Whom did the rising star, Alexandria Occasional-Cortex vote for?
Could it have been . . . Nancy Pelosi?
Ocasio Cortez voted for Pelosi.
Tim Ryan (D) OH-13 was not on the list. He has now proven to be a Blowhard.
I think the Dems who voted against or abstained are in b/l purple states and they’re just playing the game of looking mainstream rather than liberal. Gotta play to your district.
Jeff Van Drew (N.J narrowly defeated a Republican who wasn’t funded. Trump should carry his district in 2020?
I wonder if Pelosi is going to go ISIS on them and remove their heads from their shoulders.

For sure Conor Lamb was given permission to vote no as a vote for Pelosi would have made holding on to this seat problematic.
I suspect that’s true for most of ‘em on this list.
ALthough legal, I can’t see how a sitting senator could also be Speaker of the House. Maybe they expected her to step down from the Senate?
symbolism?
