(CNSNews.com) - Manufacturing jobs in the United States increased by 32,000 in December and have now increased by 491,000 during the presidency of Donald Trump, according to data released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

In December 2016, the month before Trump took office, there were 12,351,000 manufacturing jobs in the United States. In December 2018, there were 12,842,000, bringing the increase during first 24 months of Trump’s presidency to 491,000.

“Manufacturing added 32,000 jobs in December,” said the monthly employment report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics that was released today.

“Most of the gain occurred in the durable goods component (+19,000), with job growth in fabricated metal products (+7,000) and in computer and electronic products (+4,000),” said the release. “Employment in the nondurable goods component also increased over the month (+13,000). Manufacturing employment increased by 284,000 over the year, with about three-fourths of the gain in durable goods industries. Manufacturing had added 207,000 jobs in 2017.”

In the years since 1939, when the BLS started tracking manufacturing employment, the number of manufacturing jobs in the United States peaked in 1979 at 19,553,000 jobs. Manufacturing jobs then dropped to a post-World War II low of 11,453,000 in February and March 2010.

Prosperity and rising wages are considered a crises and not a goal.

So uh...why didn’t the Repugnants hold the House?

We haven’t seen an economy like this since the late ‘60s.

How come the scum run the Congress now?

This can’t be right. Obama told us that American manufacturing jobs were gone and would never come back.

I suspect most of the districts the GOP lost are like mine. Manufacturing is a tiny component of our employment, and companies are leaving even now for reasons that are local, not national. What’s changed in the last few years is that they’re now moving to other parts of the U.S. instead of other countries.

You have no idea..

I can't talk about it, but I am seeing it with my own eyes.

Your tired, your humble, those without work for eons and the rest they do not discuss nor do I ask.....

They are being hired in droves.

And 92% of the stories about our VSGPDJT will not focus on this good news.

Our media today make Pravda and Izvestia look like Lady Liberty...

Only the pathetic republican party can turn a once in a lifetime economy to a political disaster they will never recover from. The rats have learned that by encouraging illegals to vote they face no pushback whatsoever. 2020 will be the final nail in the coffin.

When conservatives create jobs, liberals see it as buying votes with stollen federal (tax cuts) dollars.

then: “Ah those jobs are never coming back. Those are jobs of the past.”

now: “I put in place programs that have resulted in these jobs coming back. (Trump didn’t build that! I did)”

Noble made a new category for Obama.

They just didn’t explain it.

The Nobel Piece prize. I’ll let the reader fill in the missing detail there.
