I agree and he should do televised speeches on important matters and use facts, quotes and whatever it takes.
That is probably what he is setting up.
The proglibs will want to cut him off, first with propaganda statments, then with changing the subject, etc.
The bottom of the list will be to acutally vote for Wall funding.
Letting it drag on untill the SOTU would be a mistake for them.

I always thought that was his strategy. He could say on the State of the Union address that he and his team tried to negotiate with the democrats about wall funding. He could say he invited them to attend a briefing about the current border situation. That’s why I think he won’t declare a national emergency until after the State of the Union address because tens of millions of people will be watching the State of the Union in the hope of hearing how the partial government shutdown will end.
