New York state ranks first in population loss (again)
Westfair Online ^ | January 4, 2019 | Ryan Deffenbaugh

New York state lost more residents last year than any other state in the U.S.

Newly reported data from the U.S. Census Bureau places New York at the top of the list of just nine states that lost residents between 2017 and 2018.

New York lost 48,510 people while Illinois was close with a drop of 45,116 residents.

New York is the fourth most populous state in the country, trailing only California, Texas and Florida. As a percentage of total population, New York’s 0.25 percent loss was less significant than that of West Virginia, Illinois, Alaska and Hawaii.

But the latest Census report marks the third straight year New York has lost population, as the overall population in the country grows.

Whoops....I hit post too early...here is the rest of the excerpt - see if you can guess what is in common about the winners and losers:

The Census report found that Nevada and Idaho had the largest percentage increases in population over the past year. Texas’ overall population grew the most, by 379,128 people in the last year.

What would New York’s population be if you didn’t include the illegals?

In 1960, NY was the most populous state. After 2020, it will be the fourth.

An "honor" that is well deserved. When you elect lunatics like Cuomo to a position of power, it is only a matter of time until normal Americans decide they've had enough.

Problem is, these idiots move from these hellholes to red states and start voting for the same crap that caused them to leave in the first place.

Some peaked around 1900!

Without NY City and a couple other large democrat plantations the state would probably become red and vote the democrats out.

Yes that’s true. I live in Ft. Bend county, Texas. A former Republican stronghold. We barely got Sen. Ted Cruz re-elected over the “fake Mexican Beto O’Roake”. We lost every Republican Judge. Lot’s of people wear I “heart” New York. That just makes me want to spit.

i was in Manhattan on buisness. I had time the next morning before heading to the airport for an afternoon flight so i took the train into Jamica Queens.

I think that many people think that Queens is the working class neighbourhood from the TV show. It has changed into a immigrant (legal and illegal) area - and almost its own different city.

Atlanta has a new apartment complex opening every week. Go through the parking garage. It is almost all rust belt licenses plates in the new apartment buildings. Look at the window decals and bumper stickers.

These people are not from NYC. They are from Rochester, Buffalo and Akron, Toledo, Flint, Detroit Chicago.

What is amazing is that most of them do not wonder why there are no jobs in rust belt cities and there are jobs in Red states TN, NC, GA, FL, TX.

Even more amazing is that Republicans, Conservatives, AFP, Tea Party, Heritage, etal are not asking these people to think about why there is a job difference.

Meanwhile, Sacramento CA, of all places, is the number one growth city in the nation.

More one-way rentals to Sacramento than any other city in America.

Exactly, this is a net decrease. Illegals, asylum seekers and welfare migration have been more than offset by the exodus of productive individuals.

The New York State used to be controlled by Republicans. They were at least a speed bump to slow down "Progressive" policies. Now, that speed bump has been removed, and Andrew Cuomo intends to put the pedal to the metal.
