In your dreams. That girl means nothing to him. Not now, never
The unimportance of the young girl to the writer is reflected in the article. The writer spends most of his time painting the defendant as a sympathetic character wracked with “guilt.” The poor soul was losing weight. No doubt he was worried about his upcoming stint in prison, and not the young girl he killed. On the other hand, the writer’s description of the young girl is flat, as if to say “Oh yeah, did I mention she is dead?” But, given the events occurred in Portland, I can’t say I am surprised.
Evil: seared conscience.
He will face ultimate Judgment, but I doubt he is suffering from guilt now.
