Phoenix police on Saturday were investigating reports of a sexual assault after a woman who has been hospitalized in a vegetative state for the past decade gave birth.
The woman, who was incapacitated in a drowning incident, was a patient at Hacienda Healthcare when she went into labor on Dec. 29 and delivered a baby boy, according to local media. No one knew she was pregnant and healthcare staff were initially unsure why she was moaning, the reports said.
"This matter is currently under investigation by the Phoenix Police Department," Sergeant Tommy Thompson told Reuters when asked about the media reports.

Yep, but let's move on, we need to misreport about a young Black Girl being shot and killed by a WHITE MAN WITH BLUE EYES in a Red Pick-up (probably with a Trump sticker)...wait, this is untrue after the media obsessed on it for days??! A simple DNA test would find the culprit.....................
Obviously this woman does/did not have a husband like Terry Schaivo (sp?) in Florida or she would have been starved to death years ago.
Let's hope, this is 9 months after the rape.
Take samples from all current male employees, and search for any that have left employment within the last 9 months.................
sorry, I misunderstood, you mean DNA from the baby...yew that should work. I wonder if that would be enough to provide clues , I'm not an expert here.
Who ever did this is a giver, not a taker
You take the baby’s sample and compare it to the male emplyee’s samples.
If no current employee matches, then check past employees for the past year or so.
If still no match, then it must have been a relative or visitor unknown.................

How bout posting a pic of the infant (especially if mom is white and baby is of “mixed race”) that would give authorities a place to begin.
With the state of DNA testing technology, they should have the guilty party within a month or so and probably he will end up doing a plea bargain. If the rapist does end up in jail, he will likely have a living hell.
Every single employee who walked into her room needs to be charged as Accessory After The Fact.
There is no way the poor lady was bathed or changed or cleaned up as the months went by and NO ONE KNEW SHE WAS PREGNANT.
Jail all those evil people. I mean EVERYONE ONE OF THEM.
As such, the perp’s DNA doesn't need to be in the database, just a cousin or two. The cousin's DNA will then suggest potential suspects and the police can then force them to give up a sample of their dna.
