There is a store near me that reconditions old washers and dryers for resale. Both my washer and dryer I bought from him. Mainly because those manufactured after the Jorge W. Bush administration imposed new environmental standards frankly suck and cleaning my clothing.

The owner of the store admits that sooner or later the supply of pre-Bush era machines will run out and he'll have to close-up shop.

Didn't Maytag relocate the manufacturing ops to Mexico a while ago?

Besides, the industry has been consolidating for years. Can't remember who owns Maytag now. Electrolux, perhaps?

My furnace, AC and water heater are late ‘80’s. I’ve thought about replacing them for more efficient but they ain’t broke. I know new ones won’t last as long.
