Our church meets in an old elementary school, one that closed in 1958 rather than obey a US court order to integrate (the act of having African-American students attend schools previously attended by only Caucasian students). The following year, the school reopened and Elva, now a member of our church, was one of those black students who were thrust into a white world. I was taken out of my safe community, with teachers who were part of our life, Elva recalls, and placed in a scary environment in a class with only one other black student. Elva suffered because she was different, but she became a woman of courage, faith, and forgiveness.
Her witness is profound because of how much evil she endured at the hands of some members of a society that denied the truth that every human being, regardless of race or heritage, is loved by God. Some members of the early church struggled with this same truth, believing that certain people were, by birth, loved by God while others were rejected. After receiving a divine vision, however, Peter stunned everyone who would listen with this astounding revelation: I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right (Acts 10:3435).
God opens His arms wide to extend love to everyone. May we do the same in His power. Today's Reflection

Any semblance of sanity at work today .... for a change? I hope so!!
Good evening, radu....I hope this all posted correctly. ALL my graphics are now blocked at work and so I ended up getting a little laptop to post on my own machine. They talked me into a Chromebook, and all my stuff is in word and I HATE IT!!!!! I have to do something about this before I go crazy.
I think I am going to need Chrome lessons. I don’t think you can teach this old dog new tricks!!
Oh...I hope you had a good dry day. No ark needed?
Good evening, Mayor, and thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul.
We made it through hump day....hurrah!!
None....a zoo day away from my desk explaining how things worked. I made my points, got nods of understanding, met a new guy at the most bestest time...a big problem finally fixed and he got it!!! He understood why the calls, how I tried to explain that payroll can’t fix any “hours” issues...they must work up their own “chain of command”. Then if there was a fix needed someone would send me a correcting timesheet.
Didn’t get my own work done, but quite satisfied how the day ended...I WON!!! LOL!
It looks just fine from here so I reckon it posted correctly. :-)
Whew, I feel for ya having to learn how to work with your new laptop. Sounds like it’s a whole new animal. Are there any “Chromebook for Dummies” books for it?
It was dry today, and sunny, but it’s a lot colder than the nice weather we enjoyed the past few days. Oh well, it IS January and to be expected. LOL!
Still looks like it’s cold up your way. The streets look icy and slick. eek!
Hooray for the new guy getting it! Now if he can just rectify the problems on his end ...... !!!!
I’m on my way right now to Best Buy downstairs. I didn’t think about a Dummies book....that would help.
The side streets are horrible...my whole street is a skating rink.
Be back later.
Hi Everybody!
((((HUGS)))
I hope there IS a Dummies book for that. They do help sometimes, as long as you can understand what they’re talking about. I got a few back when we got our first computer and called them my “computer bibles”. LOL
Good luck with those streets. They look ugly on the cams. Too shiny!
Howdy, LUV.
How are things down your way?
A pretty day here but cold. At least we just had a breeze rather than the wind they’d talked about a couple of days ago.
Hey, there, radu!
It was a good day here. It was chilly but good. I didn’t do much but there wasn’t much needing done.
I’m glad you only had a breeze today. Must have been a great relief! Sorry it was cold, though. Maybe it’ll warm up for you in the coming days. Let’s hope so!
Beautiful thread honoring our troops, Kathy! (((hugs)))
We made it up to 45 today but aren’t supposed to get above 40 tomorrow. Then 40s through the next week. They SAY 50 next Wed. but we’ll see.
We’ll have low 30s and some 20s for lows. :-(
Went to get one of Moogly’s meds refilled before heading to the grocery store and that was it for getting out and about.
Love the pic of Coal on a Pole you posted earlier. What a beautiful baby, though not really a baby any more. All grown up now.
She heard something while eating...have no idea what it was. Mystery was keeping his distance at the time. She looked like a little groundsquirrel. LOL!
LOL! Whatever she saw or heard had her attention big time.
They’re so cute when they do that.
