My son in law is a Union Plumber (Chicago).

No paid vacation.
No paid sick days.
No paid holidays.

He says they call it “8 for 8”, eight hours pay for eight hours work. Has that sticker on his hardhat.

What's wrong with that? It has been my preferred compensation arrangement now since 1980. (No time and a half for me either.)

None of those benefits?

I have been in 5 different unions in my lifetime-—all of them over 40 years go. I NEVER saw a UNION that didn’t have those benefits.
