LOL.

France: "Huh? We are a permanent UN Security Council member and a nuclear power because we don't trust Germany."

The EU is hell bent on eliminating the member countries, and on forming a “united states of europe” in competition with the USA.

Didn’t we save the Frenchies from the Germans in WWII at the cost of many lives? They are all lunatics.

Germany has told France to give its permanent seat at the UN Security Council to the European Union

Gosh, I didn't know that permanent seats on the UN Security Council were the property of the seated country, to be sold or given away at their exclusive whim.

Any permanent member of the Security Counsel could veto the proposal. I doubt if Russia, England, or the United States would agree.

Why not convert Germany’s seat to the EU seat?

“...Germany has told France to give its permanent seat at the UN Security Council...”

Someone might explain to Herr/Frau murky Merkel the reason Germany doesn’t have a permanent seat.

Hmm...so uber-Globalist Macron goes for it, and Brussels decides the seat should go...to a German. Think of it as a business opportunity for anybody who is selling yellow vests, gasoline, and empty wine bottles.

The Germans achieved with their economy what they could not accomplish by force of arms. They essentially rule Europe.

The Bundeswehr is in woeful condition. At the end of the Cold War it was the backbone of NATOs plan to defend Euope, and over 500,000 strong. Now even the 1st Panzer is hobbled by shortages of basic parts and equipment. Since 2016 the Bundeswehr has suffered dozens of desertions to ISIS, with hundreds more soldiers under investigation for ties to radical Islam. Also a smaller issue with far-right/Nazi interest among some native (ie not “recent migrant”) German troops, especially in special operations allegedly.

Despite being continually undercut and underfunded by the political class, the Bundeswehr has been ordered to expand from 175000 up to, IIRC 220k personnel, by 2024. Difficult considering that they’re missing their current recruiting goals. Only about 1/3 of Leopard 2 tanks are operational. Similarly poor numbers with other armor and helicopters. A Tiger attack helicopter crashed in Mali last year, killing the crew, because the rotors flew off in-flight. And remember that incident a few years ago when German soldiers showed up for a NATO exercise armed with tactical black broomsticks? Bundeswehr’s party line was that those troops were unarmed because they were SUPPOSED to be unarmed. Could be true...?

Not to be kept down, those industrious Germans have had multiple Dutch brigades integrates into German command, as well as the Romanian 81st and the Czech 4th, under the Framework Nations Concept. I may be wrong but I’m pretty sure Germany’s only contribution has been a naval minesweeping unit placed under Dutch command for a couple of years. The Bundeswehr is also looking to recruit among non-German Europeans, primarily Poles and Eastern Europeans.

The EU Treaty is just Germany’s plan to dominate Europe with bureaucracy instead of tanks.
