You mean at some point between 2009-2014, when the Democrats controlled the Senate. Had she retired in 2016, McConnell would have given Obama’s nominee the Merrick Garland treatment and kept the Senate in session so that Obama couldn’t make even a recess appointment.
If I were a Leftist, I’d hate Ginsburg for not having retired in 2012, when the Democrats were in danger of losing both the Senate and the presidency. If she dies or retires during Trump’s watch, and with a GOP Senate, we’ll finally get an unabashedly conservative Supreme Court with Roberts as a superfluous sixth vote (and just three liberals).

Yes, nobody thought Trump was going to win in 2016 and that Hillary would be a shoo-in. RBG likely had it all planned out to retire after Hillary's inauguration giving her two SC picks right off the bat (remember that Scalia's spot had still not been filled).
Democrats had visions of a beaming Hillary making two extreme-left SC picks at the same time.
