Bottom line: for a few hundred bucks, anyone has been able to buy real time tracking data of your cell phone location from the major mobile carriers, including stalkers, murderers, bounty hunters, collection agents, rogue cops, and many, many more!
Faraday Baggies are the way to go.
How about they stop selling our damn phone numbers to third parties (telemarketers).
As a geolocation specialist, this article isn’t total bs, but it misses the mark in total accuracy.
Basically is not insulting, but it’s also very wrong
So they will just be giving it away?
We have Ooma and they have a feature where you can put in only the phone numbers you want ringing your number. All the rest get a message to leave a number and the phone doesn’t ring unless they are listed in our directory. Pssst. Telemarketers don’t like leaving messages.
Everyone kept arguing with me about carriers doing this. Here we go... You cannot trust these greedy carriers one bit.
Ummm...turn off location unless you need it?
I carry my phone in a lead lined case. The effer won’t ping location until I take it out to use it.
I keep getting roaming sales messages because they cannot track me hour to hour. I just pop up on their net at my choice.
So the solution is simple.
