I always think that Beethoven’s Hammerklavier sonata starts off super loud so that if he heard someone play it he could tell the pianist had actually begun.

I don’t doubt it! LOL!
(((I can chuckle about Beethoven’s disability, as I suffer from it as well. It’s not so noticeable when one is a bass-player though. Thank goodness for digital tuners! LOL!))))
