I hope the US pulls out of Europe. While I understand the thinking behind “forward positioning” our resources, I really think we need to be more isolationist. The EU can go rot. The oil in the Middle East is no longer a huge concern for the US. Let’s save money and allow Europe to worry about the trouble spots. We don’t need to.

We should be more isolationist and neutral. I don’t have problems with trading with Saudi Arabia. Their human rights record is none of our business.

ok-ok-k-k-k—k-k-

So Europe has 3x the population and 10x the GDP of Russia and they need OUR boots on the ground to protect them?

I am so confused.

I will never forget the day before the wall went down briefing my troops at Graf on our night movement plan while they watched the Germans stream to the rear for hot chow, beer, and a good night’s sleep in a rack. That summed it up pretty well right then and there.

Europe: Defending itself to the last drop of American blood.

Why, so they can do what they’ve always wanted to do?

George Washington, while warning us against being entangled in alliances with those whose ideology is enmity to ours, also warned against our enemies entertaining a “perception of weakness” with respect to the USA, and that we “ought not to indulge a persuasion that, contrary to the order of human events, (we) will forever keep at a distance those painful appeals to arms with which the history of every other nation abounds”, particularly if we remove ourselves from areas of the globe where they are eager to move into (this is why they loved Obama so much, due to his doing just that).

If we become “more isolationist”, then other powers become more imperialistic. It’s happened more than once in the history of the USA.

I agree entirely. Defending those America hating Euroweenies for over sixty years is long enough. They've spent next to nothing on their own defense all the while building up their industries. Two generations of my family fought for Europe's freedom and now they're letting it go to hell, allowing Islam to subjugate them.
