Comey tweets FDR quote after latest Trump attack
The Hill ^ | 01/12/19 | John Bowden

Posted on 01/12/2019 10:34:53 AM PST by yesthatjallen

Former FBI Director James Comey shared a quote from former President Franklin D. Roosevelt about judging one by the enemies they make after President Trump issued his latest round of attacks aimed at Comey on Saturday.

"I ask you to judge me by the enemies I have made," Comey tweeted, quoting the former president.

His tweet came hours after the president renewed his criticism of the former FBI director with a series of tweets and a White House statement blasting the nation's former agency chief.

Trump's latest criticism followed a late Friday report from The New York Times detailing how the agency launched an investigation into whether Trump was acting on the direction of Russia after firing Comey in 2017.

After ousting Comey from the FBI, Trump told NBC News at the time that the decision was made due to Comey's handling of the Russia investigation. The Times reports that the decision and Trump's subsequent explanation so alarmed FBI agents that a probe was immediately launched focusing on the president himself.

"Wow, just learned in the Failing New York Times that the corrupt former leaders of the FBI, almost all fired or forced to leave the agency for some very bad reasons, opened up an investigation on me, for no reason & with no proof, after I fired Lyin’ James Comey, a total sleaze!" Trump tweeted Saturday morning.

Subsequent tweets from the president attacked Comey's character, referring to the former FBI chief as a "crooked cop" who Trump argued had overstepped his authority at the Justice Department.

"My firing of James Comey was a great day for America. He was a Crooked Cop who is being totally protected by his best friend, Bob Mueller, & the 13 Angry Democrats," Trump added Saturday.

Comey has remained a vocal critic of the president since his ouster, and frequently attacked the president last year during a media tour surrounding the release of his memoir, "A Higher Loyalty," which in part detailed his time in the Trump and Obama administrations.

The pompous ignorant ass is at it again. He loves quoting pithy phrases of others in history in an attempt to sound intelligent. Everyone who has sent a kid to college recognizes this phase.

Constant pathological lying is in fashion with all Democrats and all Democrat cheerleaders since the Manchurian Candidate Barack Hussein Obama gained national and international fame.

He was and is a very bad ........... omen.

Unashamed lying is their M.O. now.

We live in interesting times...

Yes. Especially since FDR counted Alger Hiss among his friends.

No, he’s no moron.

I consider FDR the worst president in the history of America. His New Deal kept worst economy going from his first term and only the massive costs of WW II took us out of the great depression.

[Alger Hiss]

Great .... one who helped bring the United Nations .... what kind of New World Order koolaid were those boys drinking back then ... and later ....?

[ Alger Hiss (November 11, 1904 – November 15, 1996) was an American government official who was accused of being a Soviet spy in 1948[2] and convicted of perjury in connection with this charge in 1950. Before he was tried and convicted, he was involved in the establishment of the United Nations both as a U.S. State Department official and as a U.N. official. In later life he worked as a lecturer and author. ]

Okay, so how about the enemies President Trump has made? They include the jihadists, Black Lives Matter, the pink kitty cat hat brigade, the homosexual lobby, the tranny lobby, illegal alien advocates, Big Media, Big Tech, Big Hollywood, Big Labor, etc. If you can tell a man by his enemies, then Trump looks pretty good.

You sure are banging that Holt interview drum today. Trump said the “He (Rosenstein) made a recommendation, but that regardless of that recommendation I was always going to fire Comey”
He then continued by saying that it was on his mind that this “Russia thing with Russia and Trump is a made up story”.

And furthermore he knew from Mike Rogers at NSA that Comey had been wiretapping him.

Quit beating that retarded Russia/Trump drum. The FBI crossed into treason and coup with this “investigation”.

How do you account for the fact that the United Nations Charter follows the format of the Russian (USSR) Constitution of 1936 rather than the format of the (Covenant of the) League of Nations? Would you feel there was any significance in the fact that the general secretary for the organization which drew up the charter was Alger Hiss? […]

Anyone familiar with the Communist Constitution of Russia will recognize in the United Nations Charter a similar format. It is characterized by a fervent declaration of democratic principles which are sound and desirable; this is then followed by a constitutional restriction or procedural limitation which completely nullifies the principles just announced. For example, the Russian Constitution provides for universal suffrage and voting by secret ballot. Then, in Article 126, it provides for a single political party (the Communist Party) which will furnish the voters with a single roster of candidates. This, of course renders completely meaningless all the high-flown phrases dealing with universal suffrage and secret ballots. Freedom of the press is likewise guaranteed, and then wiped out by the provision that all writings must be “in the interest of the workers.”

In precisely this same way, the United Nations Charter provides for “the sovereign equality of all its members” (Article 1)—and then sets up a Security Council, which is dominated by five permanent members (Britain, Russia, China, France and the United States), any one of which can nullify the expressed desires of all other member nations by the simple device of exercising the veto power.

The Charter allows each member nation to have one vote in the General Assembly. This sounds like democracy, but then it provides that the General Assembly can do nothing more than make recommendations, and must refer all of its suggestions to the Security Council for action! (Articles 11-14). This makes the Security Council the only legally binding legislative body in the UN. To make this absolutely crystal clear the Charter provides in Article 24 that any nation which joins the UN must “agree to accept and carry out the decisions of the Security Council.” This means that in spite of the bold declaration that the UN is “based on respect for the principle of equal rights and self-determination of peoples”, the cold fact is that the members are all committed to obey the will of a handful of nations in the Security Council. As the next ten years dramatically demonstrated, all members of the UN—particularly the little nations—could be subjected to the chokehold which the USSR had provided for herself by holding membership in the Security Council and dominating that body through the frequent use of the veto power.

The Charter further provides that membership in the UN shall be restricted to “peace-loving” states (Article 4). This was thoroughly discussed at San Francisco, and Secretary John Foster Dulles has emphasized that the UN was designed to be a collective organization of friendly nations to preserve peace rather than an assemblage of all the nations in the world. In other words, the United Nations was built on the premise that its members would only include those nations which had had a demonstrated history of being “peace-loving.” Eight years after the adoption of the UN Charter, Secretary Dulles explained to the American Bar Association why the United Nations had failed to preserve the peace:
“Now we see the inadequacy of an organization whose effective functioning depends upon cooperation with a nation which is dominated by international party seeking world dominion.”
As some authorities have since pointed out, the UN provided for a worldwide police commission and then made the top international gangster a member of that commission. It was like setting up a fire department to put out the conflagration of war and then putting the world community’s foremost firebug on the department. From the point of view of the little nations, it was like promising to provide a good shepherd to protect the small, weak countries, and then appointing the wolf and all her pups to protect the flock.

All this became apparent during the “decade of disillusionment” which immediately followed. In 1945, however, a war-weary, hopeful free world felt the United Nations was all it purported to be—an organization for collective security designed to stand like a bastion against aggressor nations. …

The Naked Communist, Chapter 8
So much history forgotten and so many warnings ignored.

“Trump spent a year and a half exposing the mainstream media in this country as a partisan tool of the Democratic Party ... and then he gives NBC an exclusive interview where he comes out and says on national television that he fired Comey over the Russia investigation? WTF? “

And in that SAME interview, in the very next sentence, he said that Russia was a fake story that he knew to be a lie, and that it’s purpose was as a partisan tool of the DNC.

So the only WTF is why you are out there in Africa, defending the FBI.

Which is why I say, (adjusts tinfoil hat), that the United Nations will either be the world “legislative body” that eventually accepts the Antichrist and his rule, or provides the model thereof.

Apparently, the spirit of Dean Acheson and others infected certain .... “Republicans” too. (cough)

How perfect, too, that the United Nations, having passed Resolution 181 now spends most of its time attacking Israel (some say roughly 2/3 of their resolutions - I have not made a count, admittedly).

Which is why I say, (adjusts tinfoil hat), that the United Nations will either be the world “legislative body” that eventually accepts the Antichrist and his rule, or provides the model thereof.
That is the intent of the left, as indicated in Communist Goal #11:
Promote the UN as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces.
Of course, with the “multi-polar” outlook of today’s burgeoning imperialists, things may materialize in a different fashion. The EU in particular always insisted on “respect for the principles of the Charter of the United Nations”, so that body (and particularly its greatest proponents in Europe) exemplifies that manner of thinking most explicitly.

Apparently, the spirit of Dean Acheson and others infected certain … “Republicans” too. (cough)
Back in 1960, The Conscience of a Conservative singles out Arthur Larson as the most Democratic-thinking RINO of the era in which it was published. After all, Larson made the title of his book, A Republican Looks At His Party, a clone of Acheson’s prior work A Democrat Looks At His Party and (as Conscience observes) it expresses the very same admiration for totalitarian principles while eschewing the US Constitution’s principle of limited government.

How perfect, too, that the United Nations, having passed Resolution 181 now spends most of its time attacking Israel (some say roughly ⅔ of their resolutions — I have not made a count, admittedly).
Well, I would say “historically” versus “now”, especially in light of such things as Resolution 3379 which explicitly accused Zionism (the notion of a state for Jews in the land of Israel) of being “racism”, under then-Secretary General and hidden Nazi Kurt Waldheim.

Yes, “historically” is a much better term; you’re correct.

[ Promote the UN as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. ]

How very Antichrist and the final beast-like from the dream of Nebuchadnezzar.

It’s such an excellent fit. Thanks for noting that.

Yeah, I’m watching both the UN and the EU. I expect their ties will strengthen.
